Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement
The ever changing views from our spacious home still take our breath away! The 19 steps up to the front door almost put us off buying this newly built house in 2005 but once up the steps, we were thrilled with the layout and the views. The bay is tidal and the skies and light are always changing. Bird watching, walks and a great coffee shop (and a pub/restaurant) are within walking distance.
Two bedrooms with shower en-suites and one with a bathroom gives flexibility. One has a double bed which is comfortable for two smaller people, the other, ours is a king size bed and is double the area. The third bedroom can be single or twin - with a comfortable fold out IKEA bed as the second bed.
Our garden is on a slope and we don't get much sun - it is Ireland after all - but there is a patio area. Being at the end of a street, we have neighbours but no shops nearby, so it is a quiet neighbourhood, free from traffic.
We've put in a Summer house spring 2022 which has amazing views and is a fantastic spot to read or listen to the birds.
Our beds are King Size - 2 m x 1.5 m / 6.6 ft x 5 ft and
Double - 1.9 m x 1.38 m / 6ft 3 x 4 ft 6

Our house is just a few minutes walk from the sea, a lovely area for walks and a coffee shop and restaurant/ pub on the island opposite that you can walk across a causeway to reach. There are sailing and boating clubs nearby - it is not an area for swimming, but many locals are 'wild swimming'. Water sports are available in the area if you want to try SUP or a boat trip to an island in Strangford Lough!
We are located in a quiet residential street in an area with maybe 50-60 houses but no shop - the closest is at Balloo cross about 2 1/2 miles away. There you will find McCann's Spar with a great range of produce and the Conservatory cafe. Also at the cross is Balloo House, an award winning bistro. Their sister restaurant The Poacher's Pocket is a couple more miles away in Lisbane, along with the chemist, medical clinic and a popular lunch venue The Old Post Office / OPO.
It is a popular area for sailing, cycling and walking with fantastic gardens, mountains, ancient Christian sites and city sights all in reachable distance by car. There are a number of National Trust properties near us - some were used for Game of Thrones!

We grow rhubarb and raspberries as well as a range of herbs in the garden. Plenty of mint for a mojito - who needs palm trees!?
We can comfortably sleep 6, there is a travel cot style baby cot available.
NOTE: We have a cat. A car is pretty much essential for our area, there is no public transport. Three H Ex guests have come without cars and it has worked out for them - never say never!
This is a NON-SMOKING house and we appreciate it if guests do not smoke around the property
