Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement
We bought our 4 storey, 5 bedroom victorian terrace in 2004 . It needed a full renovation! We completed a full and stylish modernisation and our home is bright, comfortable, light and spacious.
Our taste is for contemporary, uncluttered but interesting style and there is plenty of light throughout the house.
The kitchen and garden areas are bespoke designed and purpose built. The garden includes a safe, gated balcony/deck from the kitchen continuing down to lawn, herbaceous border and outdoor dining area. The slate dining area is specifically designed to enable eating out in the sun, surrounded by greenery , until the very last bit of the evening sun fades behind the roof tops!
Our house is very much a place to entertain, relax, and play! The main living areas are on the ground and first floor with two more good sized double bedrooms on the third floor. The basement/cellar is the utility room and storage with seperate access to the garden.

Ce que vous allez adorer dans le quartier
Our house is on an attractive, quiet residential street in a prime location, only 3-4 mins walk from 'The Grove' which is Ilkleys main shopping street. From here you can wander around the small side streets, the parks, the moors, etc all within a few minutes easy walk from the house.
Ilkley is a popular, but small scale, tourist destination all year round .It is an attractive, historic and thriving small Spa Town built from York Stone. We like it because of its old fashioned qualities, its small independant shops; traditional ironmongers, greengrocers, bakers, fishmongers, combined with a wide range of cafes bars, restaurants and more old fashioned pubs! There are even queue's outside the local award winning butchers shop at christmas!
The town also boasts several small, stylish hotels, some first class resturants and one Michelin Star resturant( 1 Star). There are many small mens, womens and childrens independant clothing boutiques, tea shops, cafes, bars, gift shops etc, but it is all very tasteful, not tacky!
There are alot of young families with small children living here as the schools and local amenities are of high quality and very family orientated. The Riverside and Park area has an indoor and outdoor swimming pool 'The Ilkley Lido'. There is also a tennis club, golf club, cricket club and the rugby club now with a supurb new club house.
Ilkley has a summer festival with various events taking place right throughout the month of August. These include a continental street market, guided walks and tours, dances, free concerts on 'The Grove' and family events in many of the small parks and gardens. There is also the 'Ilkley Literature Festival' in October when the hotels and book shops etc host talks, readings, workshops and book signings from a wide range of authors.
'The Cow and Calf' rock formations and Ilkley Moor itself are popular destinations for walkers, hikers and climbers. There are many walks of all levels around Ilkley and 'The Dalesway' walking route starts here.
I havnt yet found a website for Ilkley to equal the one for Salts Mill/Saltaire but these all have good information.

Ilkley is 25 - 40 mins from the cities of Leeds and Bradford and 30 mins from 'Saltaire' which is now a UNESCO world heritage site.Salts Mill with its incredible scale, victorian industrial architecture, Art galleries, bookshops, shops and resturants is perfect for a familey day out, if the weather is a little damp.!. Go to http://www.saltairevillage.info/ and http://www.saltsmill.org.uk/ .
We are also 40 mins from Harrogate, the larger West Yorkshire spa town and 10 minutes from Bolton Abbey and village with its 12th Century ruined Abbey, riverside and wooded walks, cafes and the excellent, Heskith Childrens Farm Park.
We are within an easy drive to many other quaint, historic Yorkshire villages and good walking country and would provide you with all the information we have.
It is also worth mentioning that we are just over an hour by car from Manchester and 1 hour 15 mins from 'The lake district', both of which we visit regularly.
