Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement
Our house is located a 5 minute walk from Dalkey Village, which is a beautiful heritage town, located between the sea and Dalkey Hill. It is also on the train line into Dublin City Centre. We have three bedrooms, two sitting rooms and a large modern kitchen. We also have one and a half bathrooms. Part of our house has a lovely traditional feel (it was built in 1906) but parts such as the kitchen and bathrooms are very modern. We completed a large renovation of the house in 2008 so everything is in good order.
From the front, our house looks like a two storey house, but from the back you can see it stretches over the three floors - the top floor has it's own bathroom, king size bed and balcony - with lovely views over Dublin bay. The other bedrooms are located on the second floor along with bathrooms. Another bedroom has an en-suite bathroom.
At the back of the house we have a patio garden surrounded by railings which was renovated in 2021 with a fire pit too.. From here you can also see out over the sea. It is a lovely space for children to play- but would not be suitable for children under 5 (due to railings and steps down to the back door of the garden

Ce que vous allez adorer dans le quartier
This is the town that Matt Damon spent his 2020 lock-down in. He loved it and so do we.
He said '"I can't think of any place you'd rather be in a 2km radius of,"

We can proudly say it is one of the most beautiful parts of Dublin (and Ireland!). Dalkey village is a heritage village beside the sea and beside Dalkey Hill. Within 5 minutes of our house there are two beautiful harbours (see photos) where you can look out over Dalkey Island or over Dublin bay. Within a 2 km walk you can go to White Rock or Killiney Beach (next train station) or Sandycove - another lovely town.
Alternatively you can walk up to Dalkey and Killiney Hills (see photos) and get the panoramic views of Dublic city and bay on one side or of Killiney and Bray out the other side! You can drive to the hill or walk.
Dalkey's main street, Castle Street, has a 10th Century church and two 14th Century Norman castles, one of which houses The Heritage Centre.
Boats are available to hire at Bulloch Harbour on Harbour Road and Yacht trips around Dalkey Island can be taken from nearby Dun Laoghaire Harbour. Killiney Hill for walking through the woods and observing the views over Dublin Bay.
Dalkey has been home to many writers and celebrities including Jane Emily Herbert, Maeve Binchy, Hugh Leonard, Bono, James Joyce and George Bernard Shaw. has it's own train station and you can use this to go into Dublin city centre (takes 35 mins). Dublin city centre has so much to see and do for all family members.
You can also choose to travel out of Dublin and do day trips to Wicklow (the Garden of Ireland) or other areas of interest.
Finally you can also choose to just have a leisurely stroll around the neighbourhood and to spot the houses of our own resident rock stars - Bono from U2, Enya and Van Morrison all live within reach!
