Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement

Our spectacular beach home at Coles Bay on the East Coast of Tasmania, with the lower level consisting of two double bedrooms (one king, one twin beds), a bathroom including shower and bath, plus separate toilet and laundry areas.
NOTE this is not available for families with children under 10 years of age, or pets, please don’t ask! And no parties please!
The upper level is open plan including kitchen, dining and living, plus outdoor living and expansive deck - with fantastic views across Coles Bay and the Hazards mountains. The kitchen is very well equipment for gourmet cooking, so you can enjoy evenings watching the sunset unfold from the deck over a drink or meal…
The house has a reverse cycle air conditioner/heater and large elevated outdoor area with BBQ, partly under cover. There is plenty of off street parking, and once on site you can park and walk to many destinations, including nearby beaches, National Park, Wineglass Bay Cruises, the boat ramps, restaurants, cafes, fish and chips and the ice creamery, pubs and a grocery store.
Coles Bay is two and a half hours drive from either Launceston and the state's capital Hobart (including airports). The wonderful scenery along our east coast is now recognised as the Great Eastern Drive and is very popular with our many visitors as a special vista, one of the most visited destinations within Tasmania.
Coles Bay Retreat is not suitable for toddlers or pets!
We prefer a minimum of 4 night stay, with longer stays encouraged to enjoy the tranquility and many sight seeing opportunities…..
NOTE: This is a no smoking property and we don’t allow pets.

Ce que vous allez adorer dans le quartier

Situated in the centre of the Coles Bay township, it’s easy to just walk to many attractions, including to restaurants and cafes, groceries, beaches and various coastal walks. There are several swimming beaches about a ten minute walk away or short drive if preferred. One special beach is Honeymoon Bay just an hour’s walk or five minute drive into the Freycinet National Park.
The rapid growth in domestic and international tourism in Tasmania, is in part due to Freycinet National Park, the most visited NP and one of several world class national parks in the state and the first declared almost a century ago. The Freycinet Peninsula NP is iconic in that it is limited to walking and boat trip access only, resulting in minimum disruptions or damage to the landscape. The Hazards, a range of five volcanic mountains, rise steeply from the ocean for dramatic effect, that we are lucky enough to enjoy in our vista. The white sandy beaches are spectacular and plentiful around Freycinet National Park.
Our beach house is secluded from the access road by our shrubs and trees, but overlooks Freycinet National Park and Coles Bay, with East Coast Tourism (and Coles Bay in particular), being the most popular regional tourist destination on the sunny East Coast of Tassie.
There are two restaurants and a small supermarket within 100m and three larger eating places within a 30 minute beach and / or foreshore walk or 5 minute drive.
Also within walking distance are three beaches and there are excellent walking tracks around the bays and around the Freycinet and Friendly Beaches National Parks, including access to the famous Wineglass Bay - a world rated beach. Most visitors enjoy spending time in the house or on the deck, admiring the spectacular views, including sunrises and sunsets! It is a short walk down Jetty Road to the Pennicott Wilderness catamaran tours leaving from the jetty, very popular with visitors to enjoy Great Oyster Bay, coastal views of Freycinet NP, with its rugged mountains and cliffs, wildlife, including birds, whales and dolphins, and a stop for lunch in the spectacular Wineglass Bay.
If you enjoy fresh seafood, the Freycinet Marine Farm can guarantee a gourmet delight, or just take some freshly shucked oysters, scallops or mussels back to Coles Bay Retreat for a feast at home on the deck! For a Japanese gestation, head to Freycinet Resort.
The East Coast of Tasmania is recognised for fine wines, particularly cool climate and our Pinot Chardonnay sparkling and Pinot Noir wines usually sell out each year! Enjoy a visit to Devils Corner, Springvale or Milton’s, about 30 minutes drive away.
Try Kate's Berry Farm near Swansea for pancakes and crepes, or the Bicheno waterfront (blowhole and the Gulch), restaurants and cafes, The Farm Shed, whisky tastings and great scenery are also great things to do and see.

Le mot de la fin

Require a minimum of three nights (more preferred), unless otherwise negotiated. We have a large mainly native garden that needs watering during the warmer, dryer months.
The local Freycinet tourism team that we help run, has finally managed to get our council along with a government grant, to organise the esplanade foreshore walk, that links to the Freycinet National Park walkway and the start of the Wineglass Bay and Mt Amos walking tracks. Heading in the other direction from the main boat ramps, just below our home, it is a pleasant walk along our beautiful foreshore, past the jetty at the bottom of our road (Jetty Road) along the foreshore to the Iluka Tavern, bakery, service station and small store, providing great views of the Hazards, Coles Bay and Great Oyster Bay. There are now several sculptures, including on one of the foreshore paths, the Hazards and names the five mountain peaks, and the location of the lookouts, others with our local fauna details.
Fantastic sunny location with outstanding, spectacular water and mountain views.
Note we have a no pets and no smoking policy,
There are many restaurants, walking tracks and things to do that can be checked out with our local wineglassbay.com website.
Safe swimming is always available at one of the nearby beaches.
Happy to supply additional tourist or local Tassie travel information to assist anyone interested in exchanging to our special Tassie state.
This is a non smoking and no pets location, thanks.
