Comfortable and practical 3-storey house, semi-detached, built in 2008. Excellent access to coast, fjords and mountains. On the ground storey are 2 bedrooms (1 bunk beds, 1 kingsize bed), bathroom with bathtub/shower and wc, and laundry room. Access to small garden and wooden patio for sunbathing and an outdoor meal. On the 2nd storey is main entrance from road, kitchen and living-room, access to balcony. On 3rd storey large bedroom (kingsize bed), bathroom (shower and wc) and study area. Good quality fold-up bed and extra floor mattress available. Carport. The house is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac, with friendly neighbours. 5 mins walk from lake with sand-volleyball, bathing facilities, fantastic walks from my doorstep.

The house is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac and the neighbours are young, friendly families.
Volda is the administrative centre of Volda municipality, which has a population of 11000 and comprises the villages of Volda, Grødås, Straumshamn and Bjørke. Volda is known for its university college, and the village can boast a new swimming pool (opened 2025), a cinema, public library and its own folk museum. The scenery is spectacular in this area, and there are great opportunities for walking or mountaineering.
Good places to visit from here:
- The Jugend-town of Ålesund - one of the ports of call for the Hurtigruten, the postal ferry. So it could be an idea to combine your holiday with a trip up the coast to Trondheim, Lofoten, Tromsoe etc, or south to Bergen. - The Myklebust Ship at the Sagastad Knowledge Centre - local handworkers have recently reconstructed the largest Viking ship known of in Norway, which was buried in a funeral mound together with a Viking king in the Norse tradition. https://sagastad.no/en/the-myklebust-ship/
- Geiranger Fjord, with a wonderful drive into the mountains (this is the area of the Norwegian "alps"), also a tiny ferry across Hjørundfjord, and a coffee at the historic Hotell Union at Øye on the way to Geiranger. - The village of Grodås, situated at the eastern end of Hornindalsvatnet, Norway's deepset lake, with views of the Hornindalsrokken (1529 m) and home to an amazing collection of sculptures at the the Anders Svor Museum.
