Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement
Please check our availability calendar. We do try to keep it up-to-date. Our flat isn't suitable for children under 13 - as it can be very noisy for our elderly neighbour downstairs. And often we can only accept a maximum of 4 guests, due to noise levels. We do sometimes consider shorter term exchanges for simultaneous exchanges or for couples- or we can offer our guest room for hospitality exchanges if we are home. Just get in touch and ask - even if it is just “white” in the calendar in spite of our 5-night minimum stay requirement.
Our home is a spacious ground floor flat in a converted period home built around the middle of the 19th century, and is brimming with period features. Rooms are large, airy and well appointed. There are 2 double bedrooms (+possible 3rd bedroom/studio when available), 2 bathrooms (one en-suite), large lounge/dining room, kitchen with walk-in larder and range cooker, and private entrance. The flat walks out onto a patio area which is perfect for bbqs (equipment available) or eating al fesco (weather permitting!) To the front of the property there is a large front communal garden, shared by 3 other flats (although you'll mostly have this to yourself).
We do have a fold out bed in my office/art studio which can be set up to accommodate 2 additional persons, if required, for shorter term exchanges.
Our home is equipped with high speed wi-fi, office space and a smart TV with Netflix, Sky, etc
Our cleaner can be made available to you - in fact we would love for you to use her - we just ask that you pay her directly. If we are on extended travels and we cannot arrange change-overs ourselves, we have a cleaning fee of £100 paid directly to our cleaner

Our home is situated in the exclusive area of Bowdon, Altrincham, Greater Manchester - home to footballers and millionaires. Altrincham was voted as the best place to live in England. Altrincham Town Centre and Hale are both a quick 10 minute walk away, where you will find cafes, restaurants, bars, cinemas, shops and more. It is a town which has seen a lot of regeneration, and has a lovely buzz to it. But yet we are 5 mins by car or 15 mins on foot from open countryside - best of both worlds!
Manchester is easily reached by Metro tram from Altrincham in about 25 mins, a few bus stop are located close to the property, and Manchester Airport is a mere 15 minutes away by car. The major M56, M60 and M6 motorways are all reached within 5-15 minutes. Uber and private taxi cabs are reliable in the area.
If you don't feel like popping into town for food & drinks, Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats all deliver in the area.
If you want a combination of city and country break, our propery is perfect. Within 5 minutes by bicycle (can be made available) or 10 minutes by foot, you are in the countryside where the country lanes make the city feel a million miles away.
The Country Estate of Dunham Massey is 10 minutes away by car, or an easy and beautiful 25 minute walk away. There are many country walks available very nearby. The Peak District is less than an hour away and the Lake District is about 2 hours away. You can be in London within 2.5 hours by train.
Altrincham and Hale sports a number of golf courses, various gyms, 2 theatres and 2 cinemas. The Everyman Cinema offers comfortable sofas and in-seat dining.
And of course, don’t forget: Manchester is home to 2 premier league football clubs (Man City & Man U), but many others are accessible from our home within an hour or 2 hours’ drive: Liverpool, Everton, Burnley, Leeds, Aston Villa, Wolverhampton W etc.
