Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement
Our home is situated on the shores of Lake Penneseewassee (also known as Norway Lake) in a quiet cove surrounded by majestic Norway pines. The house features 3 floors of living space:
Ground floor: fully-equipped kitchen with breakfast bar, adjacent dining area, living room, sunroom, bedroom (queen) and full bath.
2nd floor: 2 bedrooms which share a full bath. One bedroom has a queen and the second has a bunk bed (full size on bottom and twin on top) and a free-standing twin.
Daylight Basement-: den and bunkroom (2 sets of bunkbeds), plus laundry room.
The living room has a wood stove (particularly appealing during the winter ski season!). Two sets of sliders lead to a large 20 ft.X 30 ft.deck overlooking the lake. This is the perfect place to kick back in a classic adirondack chair and enjoy the balsam scent of the fresh Maine air.
The living room and basement den each have a television and DVD player. Our teens enjoy hanging out in their own space downstairs (which works out well for us, too!)
We have a Weber charcoal grill on the deck and a rustic firepit for campfires and s'mores. You are also welcome to use our kayaks and paddle boat. And, for total relaxation, we've got a hammock that stretches between 2 pines where you can enjoy the view and forget your cares. The loons will provide a soothing serenade, free of charge!
The house is about 100 feet from the lakeshore frontage which is in a sheltered cove. This can be a big advantage since we are protected from the prevailing wind and there is not a lot of boat traffic/noise. There is no beach on the property; you swim off the dock. There is a public beach at Pennesseewassee Park that can be reached by car or by boat. This is also the location of the public boat ramp. The water depth off the end of the dock is typically 4-5 ft. though can vary based on the lake level. The bottom is mucky and there are stumps/shallows in the center of the cove but the water is crystal clear throughout. Makes for great fishing. There is a floating dock system which is great for gathering on the water. Motor boats and pontoon boats are available for rent at the nearby marina. (We have a 19 ft. I/O that will be moved to the marina during exchanges.)

This is a great area - less than an hour to shopping and dining in North Conway, NH, about an hour to Freeport, Maine (and L.L. Bean), and 45 minutes from Portland. Plenty of summer hikes or you can just relax on the lake or cast your line off the dock. Norway has a bookstore, the Nomad Cafe for coffee and lunch, a health food market, artist store and gallery. There's a full-service grocery store and a WalMart close by.
Also, a 9-hole public golf course is a short ride away right in Norway.
