Located an hour and a half drive north of Los Angeles, 45 min from Santa Barbara, and 20 min from the beach, Ojai is a beautiful and charming town surrounded by mountains, a national forest, and orange groves. Our house is a 15-minute walk to the center of Ojai, where there are artist galleries, coffee shops, restaurants, and numerous concerts and festivals throughout the year.
Walking over a footbridge under majestic oaks, you will know you have arrived at an exceptional home. With over an acre of land, there are many charming places to enjoy the outdoors and take in the mountain views. The hot tub is perfect for relaxing and viewing the dark night sky and all the stars after an active day.
Our spacious, open-plan single-story home includes a living room and formal dining room. The large kitchen with a wall of windows is light-filled and delightful to cook in. The comfortable family room is a beautiful place to enjoy a movie or games or curl up with a good book in front of the fireplace. There is a bedroom with a luxurious king bed and an attached bathroom. Two other bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two twin beds, share a second bathroom.
Our backyard features many spots to relax or, if you are energetic, a basketball game on our ½ court. The patio right outside the backdoor offers a BBQ, dining, and outdoor seating. Beyond the basketball court, under the trees, is another dining option and an outdoor bed for relaxing. Pick some organic oranges or peaches from our small grove or visit our famous Ojai Farmer's Market on Sundays, only a 10 min walk away.
Our home is our primary residence. However, we have part of our home that was made private for my mother-in-law and is no longer used. When our home is occupied during the home exchange, we will either plan to be away ourselves or stay in the mother-in-law's suite.
We prefer exchanges of at least three nights.

Ojai has been featured in many magazine articles and is listed as one of the top 10 small towns to visit in the United States. It’s charm and natural beauty combined with a thriving art, music, and spiritual community, along with unique shops and restaurants (no chain stores allowed) give Ojai a special flavor.
Hiking and biking trails can keep you busy for days with beautiful vistas. There are two fantastic golf courses, horseback riding, and at Lake Casitas there is a small waterpark, kayaking, and fishing. There is a yoga studio on almost every street.
The beach is only a 20-minute drive away (or 45 min on the bike trail) where you are able to give some of our famous surfing beaches a try or ride bikes on trails beside the ocean You can take a boat to the Channel Islands for whale watching or scuba diving. Continuing north up the coast a little further, enjoy an amazing drive where the mountains meet the sea, and you will arrive in one of California’s most beautiful coastal towns, Santa Barbara.
If you drive south, 45 min away is magnificent Zuma Beach and the beginning of the world-famous Malibu beaches. It’s a perfect day trip from Ojai.
Los Angeles is less than 1 ½ hours away making it easy to visit attractions such as Universal Studios, Hollywood, the Getty Museum, etc.
There is a bike trail a 5 min ride from our home and you can ride all the way to the beach. Meditation Mount is a 10 min drive up the valley with gorgeous views over the valley and gardens perfect for meditating or reflecting. There are many lovely day spas in Ojai along with the 5 star Ojai Valley Inn and Spa.
