Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement
Very spacious, open and luxurious 2 bdr/2 ba condo nicely decorated and in a secure complex, only 7-minute walk to the center of town. Amenities include a gym, pool (with lanes), and secure parking. Every room is quite large and each has a fabulous view of the city/town, countryside and distant mountains. The master bedroom/bath is huge with a terrace off of the bedroom - looking out on the whole city and gorgeous sunsets. The second bedroom is on the other side of the living area, with a separate bath and plenty of closet space. Very large, open living-dining area, also with great views. The kitchen has recently been remodeled and has a dishwasher, garbage disposal, bottom-freezer stainless-steel refrigerator, granite counters, and is well stocked. The laundry room is just off the kitchen and has a washer/dryer and more great views. The house is very nicely furnished and both beds are relatively new. Maid service is provided twice a week. Nice neighbors and very convenient location in a lovely, upscale neighborhood. Taxis are abundant and only cost between $2.40 and $3.20. We also now have Uber, which is usually even cheaper than taxis. San Miguel has great and numerous restaurants - most within walking distance.
Ce que vous allez adorer dans le quartier
San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, is a 500-year old colonial city that enjoys United Nations World Heritage designation; this year Conde Nast "Traveler" magazine called it the number-one city in Mexico, and earlier listed it as one of the top 50 travel destinations in the world. Located in the Mexican Highlands at an altitude of 6300 feet, it's got great weather: warm, dry sunny days and cool nights.
To many visitors the town feels magical; the Mexican people are gracious and welcoming, and there are so many English-speakers that it is not at all necessary to know Spanish to get by. The food is really excellent, and there's plenty to do---aside from plays, movies, lectures, art galleries (and classes) galore, there's horseback riding, birdwatching and two hot springs, as well as a nearby, recently unearthed pyramid.
San Miguel has since the '50s been a vacation (and retirement) destination for Americans, Canadians and Europeans who enjoy the Spanish-colonial architecture, cobblestoned streets, excellent restaurants of all types and diverse cultural activities. (Some have been so struck by the city's appeal that they buy a house a few days after arriving.) The city is 3-1/2 hours north of Mexico City, an hour away from the charming university city of Guanajuato. The nearest airport is in Leon, 90 minutes away; or fly into Mexico City and take a mini-van or deluxe bus direct to San Miguel.
