Welcome to our home. We love living in Duncan and we are happy to welcome you. We are a part of the Cowichan Valley (or Warmland) on supernatural Vancouver Island, home to Orca whales, gigantic Douglas Fir, world class hikes, clean, fresh air and truly friendly people. Our house offers 2800 square feet of comfort and has three bedrooms, four bathrooms, two offices and an art room, a lovely deck with a stunning view and a cute back yard (fresh tomatoes in August from the garden). We have a pool table/table tennis table and a hot tub. Hundreds of books and movies as well as cable TV and streaming channels, Netflix, Crave, Prime and high speed Wifi, download speed 400, upload 125. Our home is air conditioned so if the days get really hot, you can relax in the cool indoors.
But, why visit Vancouver Island? Depends what you are looking for. See links to videos below. Victoria has been our home for over 30 years but in 2018, we moved an hour north and can't stop using the word bucolic! Bill grew up here and this land resonates with him and we enjoy sharing it with our guests. Our home is large, spacious, relaxing and quiet.

Our neighbourhood is great for walking (a block to 120 kilometre Cowichan Regional Trail) Our quiet street is close to an active bus route. A 7 minute drive to visit the shops, restaurants, galleries, and brew pubs downtown. Walking distance to a large grocery store, local pizza place, a great pub (The Oak Taphouse) two other eateries, plus a Tim Horton's, an ice cream shop and Gibby's Cafe.
We are just fifteen minutes from the Cowichan River, Lake Cowichan, Maple Bay or Genoa Bay. The world-famous Chemainus murals are a twenty minute drive. Our valley is renowned for wineries, slow food movement, farm to table establishments, golf courses, museums, and music. Four amazing golf courses, one as close as three minutes away (Duncan Meadows), Mt. Brenton (15 minutes), Cowichan Golf Club (20 minutes) or Arbutus Ridge (30 minutes) LOL. Several festivals all summer. 39 days of July downtown has free music from morning to night. Sailing, fishing, mountain biking, kayaking, whale watching, something for all members of the family. Visit Maple Bay, Genoa Bay, Cowichan Bay: unique waterfront communities with bakeries, restaurants, kayak or boat rentals, whale watching or fishing charters. Swimming is a dream in the valley. Warm waters. Hot days. No mosquitoes. Definitely a destination for mountain biking. A great hub for connecting to surf towns like Port Renfrew, Jordan River or Tofino. Beautiful Parksville Beach is an hour and fifteen minutes away. And the capitol city, Victoria, is a beautiful one hour drive south. Convenient to the Nanaimo International Airport (30 minutes) or the Victoria Airport (one hour and fifteen minutes). Or by float plane to Maple Bay Marina from Vancouver. (15 minutes).
