Our dream home is a single level open plan, simple but elegant house. Built on a slope, the entry is at street level and the ocean side is elevated to give you unobstructed ocean views. The house was designed to take advantage of the tropical ocean breezes. The entry opens to a large living area that flows to the kitchen and dining area under one open high ceiling area. The living area opens to a large roofed, screen lanai where our guests seem to spend a lot of time gazing at the ocean. 4 large glass paneled sliding doors between the living area and lanai are tucked into wall pockets 99% of the time, so the house is very open to the outside all year. The master bedroom with a king size bed is in a private area and has its own bathroom with a large walk in shower. We use the second bedroom as an office. It has a twin bed and a wall of shelves filled with books. The second bathroom with a shower is close by. We have a professional cleaner twice a month to take care of basic cleaning (not a servant, do your own laundry and dishes, please:) We will take good care of your home and expect you will do the same here. Our house is meant for adult living and not meant for young children. We only do simultaneous exchanges and home isn not available from November 15 - March 15.

Ce que vous allez adorer dans le quartier
We live in a residential subdivision close to rural areas. Most neighbors own their own home and live here full time. At night when it is quiet you may here the ocean if the surf is high. You will hear pleasant, tropical bird song in the morning. Our location is 2 miles from the center of our coastal town where there are 3 large grocery stores, many small local shops, art galleries, Walmart, Target, Kmart, Macy's but there are no large shopping malls. There are a few small farmer's markets with local produce. We are close to many beaches and all the ocean sports you can think of. Golf, tennis and an assortment of outdoor sports are nearby. Our town is on the slope of an 8000 ft. mountain. Within two hours drive is a 14,000 ft. mountain with a world class telescope, a volcano with expanses of stark lava field, remote valleys of dense rain forest, horseback riding, large ranches, coffee farms, cacao (chocolate) farms, a commercial vanilla operation in the US, and tropical fruit of many exotic varieties.

People are friendly, helpful and unassuming. Privacy is respected.
Within 2 hours are lava fields, a vanilla farm, orchid farms. Within 15 minutes are coffee farms, ranches, and every ocean sport you can imagine.
