***** The summer of 2025 is complicated for us due to a health issue. We will spend most of June to Mid-August at this cabin and until we are clear on our activity schedule we are not releasing dates for home exchange for 2025. Sorry. *****
This cabin sits right on a lake, with its own dock and access to the water. It is situated in a quiet pine forest, with a beautiful deck overlooking the water. There are 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a large loft with beds. There is a big kitchen that is fully stocked with a great room, allowing 10 or more people to comfortably stay here. The dock and deck are new. It also has a garage for the car and a laundry room with washer and dryer in the basement. In the winter the snow is renowned for its depth and quality - back country skiing and snowmobiling abound. In the summer a quick 20 minutes gets you to world famous Yellowstone national park with it abundant wildlife and geysers. Right out the door are water sports, fishing, rafting, biking and lots of hiking - we have the maps to assist you with this. Canoe, small boat and electric motor, mountain bikes, and flotation equipment are all provided.
It is rural but there is now internet, there is now (2019) also a good cell signal present and there are hundreds of DVDs and HDMI cable connection for your laptop if you want to watch a previously downloaded movie. Surround sound Bluetooth stereo is also present.
The rural aspect means it is peaceful but you will need to drive if you want a restaurant - easily solved as the town of West Yellowstone at the park entry has a lot of great bars, stores and restaurants and there are a few good ones scattered in the Island Park area.
**** We answer all requests, but at times there can be a several day to several week delay. Because we are both retired and very active outdoor adventurers, we often go on prolonged expeditions into the wilderness areas all over the world - with no internet access- just a satellite phone/GPS. For that reason you might experience a delayed response to your request. Sorry for that inconvenience, I know it is frustrating when trying to plan a trip.****
**** Our home is rural and does not have a cleaning company so if you want to stay here please understand you will need an extra couple hours the evening prior or morning of departure to clean up after yourselves. This may impact your desire to stay but it is just how our home is set up. We intend to do the same and clean your home when we depart.****
**** Since we get a very large number of requests for use of our home please ask for a full week (Saturday/Sun to Saturday/Sun) during June-Sept. That leaves more full week blocks of time for our family or other guests to enjoy the home.****

Ce que vous allez adorer dans le quartier
Our home is in a pine forest sitting on a lake. It is quiet and peaceful. Nearby is Yellowstone National park and also close by are many hikes, rivers to float or fish, white water rafting on the Gallatin and Madison rivers, and world class snow sports (snowmobiling out the back door, skiing within reasonable driving distance).
