My home is a reflection of who I am - not fancy, but very welcoming and casual. The decor of my house shows where I've been on my travels. Large, fairly modern eat-in kitchen. I love to cook, so inevitably, gatherings happen in the kitchen or on my patio. Small patio in back, grill included. Comfy area to enjoy a good book or glass of wine. 3 bedrooms. Master has king bed, two upstairs bedrooms both have double beds. Can accommodate six people only if everyone is comfortable sharing a bed. Small living room by U.S. standards, but plenty of seating for a group of 6. Large screen TV - plenty of viewing options (most are terrible, but available nonetheless). I live in a high density area, so, if you are looking for "quiet," my house might not be a perfect match. I do live on a fairly busy street. I have double paned windows, so it is not noisy, but not quiet either. I am often out and enjoying both the weather and the amazing number of things to do in the area. I will help you find activities that suit your interests if you so desire. Southern California has a lot to offer - great outdoors (beach, mountains and desert within 2 hours), fabulous restaurants, almost unlimited cultural activities (theater, movies, museums) and, of course, world class amusement parks. I do have a very sweet indoor cat. You would need to make sure Charlotte did not sneak out. You would also need to be willing to clean out the litter box daily.
Huntington Beach really is "Surf City U.S.A. It is official. I live 2 miles from the beach and walk on the beach path at least 3-4 times a week. While I walk, I enjoy an incredible view - complete with surfers, dogs frolicking in the sand (we have a great "dog beach") and, often dolphins swimming offshore. ! have several beach chairs and a beach cruiser bike. A market is within easy walking distance. Trader Joe's is about a mile away (many of you know about Trader Joe's). Nonetheless, you really do need a car to fully enjoy Southern California. There is virtually NO public transportation in this area. I will provide maps to anywhere and everywhere you might want to venture. Including cars is negotiable. For me it depends on where you live, if I am comfortable driving where you live (I do not drive on the left side of the road and would not like to drive in a big city) and whether I am coming alone or with a friend who can navigate.

I will arrange for you to meet some of my friends. It is always good to know who to call if you need anything and most home exchangers love meeting real people who live in the area. It should be an experience, not just a house swap.
While I do welcome kids, I don't feel my house is necessarily a good match for families with very young kids. There are stairs to negotiate and really no yard/garden for young kids to spread out and move around. There is a small park within 100 meters.

I live 2 miles from the ocean, with world class surfing and a path along the ocean for walking and biking. There are restaurants of all types in Huntington Beach - suited for all tastes. I am about a half hour drive from Disneyland. Los Angeles is about an hour drive away (without traffic, which never happens). Unlimited things to see and do in Southern California.
