In 2024, we can only offer co-habiting hospitality for a solo traveller or couple, as we only have one bedroom available with queen-size bed and solo use of own bathroom. We offer this for 80 GP. There is also a toilet downstairs. Please be aware that cooling is only by electric fan - there is no air-conditioning. Also, the bedroom is upstairs and your private bathroom is shower over bathtub which may not be suitable for someone with limited mobility. Come to the glorious Gold Coast for winter sun and enjoy Aussie hospitality. If possible, we will pick you up from the station or airport. This is a lived-in, unpretentious, somewhat book-cluttered, ground floor [with internal flight of stairs to bedrooms] 3-bedroom holiday apartment in a small block - It is perfectly positioned right on Currumbin Creek... just a few steps across the lawn and you are in the water. Watch your fishing rods or swim at our own small sandy beach or just sit on the back patio, glass of wine in hand. There is a sofa bed downstairs.. Full length glass windows with sliding glass door at the back give magnificent views of the creek. When you sit outside and look upstream, you can barely see a house; you would think you are in a natural backwater, not in the heart of a thriving tourist hotspot. Watch the stand-up paddle boarders and kayakers go by (hire one yourself from boatshed nearby) and cheer on the dragon boat racers. Feed the resident pelicans and fish and admire the lorikeets that come to the blossoms on the shrubs. All this nature yet we are directly across the road from a major shopping centre with medical facilities, banking and a bus stop.

Want to fly in? The Gold Coast airport is just a 10 minute drive away at Coolangatta and cheap flights are easy to grab from Jetstar, and Virgin. Air New Zealand flies in, as do budget flights from Singapore and KL. We would hope to be available to pick you up from the airport or from Varsity Lakes train station. The surf beaches of Palm Beach and Currumbin are a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive. There are excellent broad creek-side walking paths, including a mangrove boardwalk to the mouth of the creek, the Pirate Park kid's swimming area, and the beach. For a meal out, RSL and Currumbin Sports Clubs are a stroll away. Elanora Library and The Pines Shopping Centre, with banks, doctor, dentist and most facilities are just across the road... bring your groceries home in a shopping trolley. No car? All the better. Buses from shopping centre across the road open up the entire Gold Coast and connect with trains at Varsity Lakes or Robina for a day in Brisbane. The famed Currumbin Wildlife Park is a 5 minute drive or bus ride. The hectic nightlife of Surfers Paradise a 1/2 hour drive. Jupiters Casino is even closer and Twin Towns Services Club less than 1/2 hour, also. For the kids, all the theme parks are accessible within the hour - by car or bus.
