Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement
Please do not contact me for anything less than 5 nights. I want people to enjoy this property and setting as much as I do. The condo is on two levels with the entrance on the second floor of a walk-up - no elevators. In other words, access is from the third floor of the building where kitchen, living / dining, one bath and the small balcony are located. For the latter, think morning coffee while the sun comes up through the palm trees, or an evening glass of wine while watching the moon through the palms.
The second level of the apartment [fourth floor and top floor of the apartment building] has another full bathroom (shower only), two bedrooms and a large ocean side balcony [think dinner for four or two or alone to meditate and practice yoga.]
This condo is unique in the building as there is another balcony on the land side accessed through the main bedroom. A great place for early-morning bird watching and early day reading in the shade. You can also watch the sunset over the wetland / preservation area and maybe see some white egrets, a flock of green paraqueets or the osprey (fishing eagle) that lives next door.
It is quiet, private, secure and with easy access to amenities and services - short walks or drives to some great restaurants, the beach is literally just down below and the pool is even closer if you want fresh water instead of salt.
If you like to scuba dive, there are a couple of places I can recommend and many dives sites. If you prefer golf, there are several excellent golf courses minutes away in all directions. And if your sport is kite-surfing, just 20 min. away is one of the world's best kite surfing locations at the Playa Blanca/Laguna Chacmoochuch. On the way to the lagoon, is Ikarus kite-surfing school if you would like to learn or a quiet location to refresh your skills.
For a 'staycation' take the ferry to Isla Mujeres, again for some great food and music on the beach. I often go with friends for just a day, but occasionally stay overnight to enjoy North Beach.

Puerto Juarez was the original fishing village, and naval base, that Cancun was built next to. Punta Sam is now luxury hotels, renamed Playa Mujeres, and with another golf course. The condominium is located between the noisy (and expensive) hotel zone and the quiet (but also expensive) Playa Mujeres resorts.
Not expensive at all are nearby fruit stalls in a local market and even closer are several fishermen's co-op with restaurants. There are many stores in Cancun to satisfy all budgets and tastes (from Costco to Walmart), and restaurants of every flavour and price. In addition to Chichen-Itza and Tulum for visits by car, less than 1.5 km from the apartment, is a small archeological site called El Meco within walking distance.
The apartment is close to cultural events at theatres and performance centres within the city and at the local University, and to 'nature preserves'. In recent years the road between Puerto Juarez and Punta Sam has been re-paved, gained a sidewalk almost all the way along on one side of the road and a bike path on the other side. The HomeBook provides lots of ideas and recommendations to keep you as busy as you would like, and for days on end.
When local people ask me where I'm from, in a store or bank line-up or so, and I, tall and Caucasian, answer, "Puerto Juarez", they laugh and laugh...There is a lot of laughter in Mexico.
