Our home, Karakia, is modern yet rustic, is your own private lodge, treat yourself and escape the world, generous bedrooms with views, spacious bathrooms, and luxury open plan living.
Located in the stunning upmarket resort of Jack's Point, set against the Remarkables, walking & biking trails, a world class golf course are all on your doorstep. Stroll down to the clubhouse, sit by the lake, sip a glass of wine. Our home will offer you style & relaxation, in a region renowned for its natural beauty and activities. It is a secondary home for us so dates for exchange do not need to be reciprocal.
The living room is huge, open plan but defined by fabulous 100 year old Kauri exposed scissor trusses. A separate media room, large and comfy allowing guests to spread out, a Sonos sound system and Netflix, etc.The designer chefs kitchen, with it's stunning island bench, is a great place for breakfast or just sit and chat. A stylish window seat which takes in the views of the Remarkables and Coronet Peak.
All bedrooms have spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. The beds are California King (huge) and can be split into King Singles if needed. All bedroom's open up to their own private seating area, to take in the views.
The two master bathrooms are off walk through wardrobes and are finished in exotic stone with solid oak vanities, heated slate floors, massive walk in showers and clerestory windows with private views across the reserve to the mountains.
The third bathroom, also beautifully tiled, has a large shower and bath and has lovely views from the clerestory windows, there is also a separate powder room for guests.
Outside, the property features plenty of local Otago stonework, an outdoor fireplace and a built in gas BBQ for the evenings. Decks, and outdoor areas are both North and South facing, become one with the elements and relax by the roaring outdoor fireplace. From here you can gaze to the stars, the mountains... reconnect with the elements.
Two car garaging and a vehicle may be aavailable.

Take on the outstanding Jacks Point golf course. We’ve played all around the world and this course ranks right up there. There is a great driving range, Alex will give you a friendly welcome and can arrange, clubs, shoes, golf carts, or whatever you need. Other top courses within 20 mins are Kelvin Heights, Millbrook, The Hills and Arrowtown course.
Skiing ... Remarkables just 5 mins away from Karakia, or Coronet (20 mins) or several other nearby skifields.
Take time to explore the amazing wineries of the Otago region, world renowned wines, we have many recommendations, wine lover's are spoiled for choice here.
Take an 18 min drive to Queenstown Central, explore the boutiques or relax in one of the cool bars or eateries. Arrowtown with its quaint main street, also has terrific places to eat... then there's Glenorchy, Cromwell & Wanaka, all less than an hour away and well worth a visit.
