Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement

Come stay in our beautifully updated inner city home. Cook your meals in the fully equipped kitchen or take a short walk to trendy Kensington to eat at some of the best restaurants the city has to offer. Located just outside of downtown you'll be close to all of Calgary's major attractions and a quick escape to head to the mountains. Our home is well set up for couples on a getaway, small groups of adults, or especially for families traveling with children.

Space

Our house is a 2 level duplex, with a split level entrance, that has been fully renovated and furnished. The kitchen, dining, and living room are upstairs, along with 2 bedrooms and a full bathroom. The bedrooms upstairs are setup for kids; 1 has a bunk-bed (2 twin/single mattresses), the other 1 twin/single bed. (Note - we also have a pop-up crib and high-chair available for families with a baby or toddler.)

There is a small deck on the front of the house that has a BBQ. The downstairs also has 1 bedroom (queen bed), an office, a 2nd full bathroom, laundry, and a large family room with fold-out murphy bed (queen). The downstairs is half above grade with large windows, so its bright and airy.

The yard outside is beautifully landscaped. The backyard has a small vegetable garden, raspberry bushes and cherry tree (in summer), sitting area, play structure with slide and climbing wall, and grassy area with kids toys to play on.

Guest Access

You'll have access to the whole house, except a small storage room that will be locked. The single car garage in the back will not be available. There are 2 street parking passes available for guest use at no charge.

Our local favorites, all within a 5 to 15min walk; - Higher Ground coffee shop - Naked Leaf tea shop, with great kombucha on tap - Kensington Wine Market for wine, craft and import beer, and quality spirits (scotch, rum, etc) - Sidewalk Citizen bakery for amazing cinnamon buns and hand-crafted artisan bread made with 14 year old starter (yeast) - Dairy Lane or Vendome for brunch - Shawarma King restaurant for middle-eastern food to go - Jurees Thai Restaurant for authentic Thai take-out or eat-in - Burger 320 for the best burger and fries - Canadian Pizza Unlimited for great pizza - Amato Gelato for excellent variety of hand-made gelato, a real hit with the kids! - Modern Steak or Vero for fine dining. Note - we also really like The Rouge restaurant in the Inglewood neighbourhood (near the Zoo, 15min drive). Local attractions for kids; - Bowview Outdoor Pool (5 min walk) for summer family swimming (June to Sept) - Riley Park Wading Pool (10min walk) - West Hillhurst Park (5 min walk, 1 block to west) with soccer field and multiple kids play structures - Calgary Zoo and Telus Spark Science Centre (15min drive, or short C-Train ride) - Killarney Recreation Centre (15min drive) for indoor swimming, with shallow kids swim pool and convenient family swim times. Bodhi Tree Yoga and Urban Athlete Gym - down the street!

Getting Around

Getting around the area is very easy, you can use any of the following; - Public Transit. The C-Train is a 10 minute walk to Lions Park or Sunnyside stations. The bus is a 1 minute walk to #419 stop, or 3min walk to #9 and #10 bus stops. - Car2Go. We are located within the home area with many cars available. - Avis rental car is a 15 minute walk to the North Hill location.

***NOTE: we return home on June 30, 2018 so our home will not be available after that time.

We love our neighborhood! In the heart of trendy and cultural Kensington, it was one of the first neighborhoods built with the city. We are walking distance to grocery stores, boutique shops, cafes, restaurants, the river pathway, yoga, gyms, a fabulous farmer's market, kids playgrounds, outdoor swimming pool and splash park (in summer).

We are also only an hour away from outdoor mountain magic! Hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, skiing, snowboarding, snow shoeing, dog sledding, horse back riding... the list goes on! Yes, we live in paradise.
