Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement
This is an original seaside farmhouse with old plank floors, beamed ceilings, floor to ceiling fireplace, farmhouse decor including hooked rugs, copper sink, AGA stove and traditional art creating a beautiful cozy feel. “Absolutely Charming” is the word that our guests use to describe the decorating. In addition the home offers two living rooms, a country kitchen, a dining room, an office, three bedrooms and two fully renovated bathrooms all which maintain the farmhouse feel. The outside of the home is surrounded by beautiful gardens and a large surrounding deck, as well as a traditional shed and barn. Overlooking the property is a large outdoor firepit with seating for conversation and laughter. Old grey wooden shingles complete the seaside look. Four car parking available.

The Village of Chester is a quaint old sailing town surrounded by ocean views and known for its spectacular natural beauty. The Village is a peninsula surrounded by water views so it is a great place to go for a walk. The historical homes in Chester date back as far as the 1700’s. They are elegant with a Martha Vineyard style architecture. The village has quaint cafes, the oldest pub In Nova Scotia, a local beach, the renown Chester Playhouse, art galleries and craft shops - all within a five minute walk. Located nearby is a children’s park with playground and a lido village pool on the back harbour just minutes away.
Le mot de la fin
Location, Location, Location. Chester is the premier starting point to explore mainland Nova Scotia. It is situated in the middle of the best that Nova Scotia has to offer. It is conveniently located for day trips to Halifax, Peggys Cove, gorgeous beaches, the Annapolis Valley wineries, Mahone Bay, whale watching, golf, surfing, and the UNESCO site of Lunenburg. A typical day trip might take you through a historic seaside town, across a ferry, by numerous beaches, art galleries & restaurants, and by many places to walk, bike or hike.
BEACHES: Chester has its own small beach and there are numerous beaches in all directions along the coast line. Some are tiny, some seem to stretch for miles. There are too many to count.
GOLF: The Chester Golf Club is within five minutes of our farmhouse where 13 of the 18 holes have an ocean view. Many say the views are more beautiful than Pebble Beach. There are numerous other courses available near by and the famous Cabot Links courses for an overnight excursion (one of the top 10 golf destinations in North America).
BIKING TRAILS: Trails start at your back door and will take you to the gorgeous villages of Mahone Bay and Lunenburg or back towards the wonderful city of Halifax (the province’s capital). There are numerous other sites to bike….two of the most popular are along the LaHave River or Lawrencetown Beach.
MAHONE BAY AND LUNENBURG: Two special ocean side towns located within a 30 minute drive. Mahone Bay is the town of Three Churches and Lunenburg is home of the Bluenose sailing ship and is renowned UNESCO Site.
PEGGY’S COVE: World famous lighthouse is a drive but if you stick to the coast you will enjoy getting there as much as arriving. One of the very best hikes in NS is a walk along the rocky coastline at Polly’s Cove…a still undiscovered beauty.
ANNAPOLIS VALLEY: This is the place to buy fresh corn, beans, fruits and vegetables throughout the summer. There are numerous wineries to visit, relax and enjoy lunch. The area is famous for the historical site of Evangeline and the Acadian story. There is fabulous biking along the dikes, theater, antiques and the highest tides in the world! A great drive takes you through Kentville to Halls Harbour for lobsters then to the spectacular Look-OFF, then off to Scott’s Bay and the “healthy” Cape Split hike to a gorgeous view of the Bay of Fundy.
PARKS: At your backdoor there is a beautiful local park which includes a children’s playground with weekly concerts every Tuesday. Grab a chair, bring a picnic and enjoy!)
LOCAL MARKETS: Chester on Friday, Hubbards on Saturday, Lunenburg on Thursdays. Enjoy local color with crafts, produce and music.
