Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement

Our home is a 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath condo in a small, private 4 unit building in a fabulous location. There is a full kitchen, with an island, high-end appliances, living areas with access to technology like Smart TV’s, advanced super-fast internet and a comfortable Sleep Number king dual control adjustable bed.
Our terrace, in many ways, is the star of the show. Enjoy seating around a live edge, California Redwood coffee table. And, you’ll certainly want to chill out in our swinging hammock chairs. It’s the best place to catch the sunrise, and all the boats big and small, sailing on by. We are located on a canal, 2 houses in from the intercoastal waterway. For those new to this area, the intercoastal is essentially an interstate highway for boats. And, from our terrace you will see everything from small personal boats, to big time fishing vessels, elegant sailboats, to enormous 100+ foot mega yachts! The hammock chairs are also the best seats to watch the outdoor TV. A movie outside, in the cool of the night, makes for a perfect romantic evening! There are 3 all glass, sliding door entrances to the terrace that capture beautiful views from the master, the dining area and from the living room.
The terrace looks out over the waterside pool, our deck area, and the brand new dock. Bring your Boat! Our dock allots for up to a 33 foot vessel with a 9 foot beam and has power and water.
The living area is open-concept, to take advantage of what is essentially, a wall of windows looking out to the water! Great for entertaining, the kitchen opens directly into the dining/living areas where you will find our gorgeous 8 foot Guanacaste dining table, sitting atop a massive piece of teak (both exotic wood from the south pacific). This was made custom for us, by a local craftsman. Another woodsmith made the matching Guanacaste benches for us. And, speaking of local craftsman, we hope you enjoy the grand, abstract piece hanging above the dining area. This was also made by a local artisan, using a patented, firing technique which we acquired from one of the local art fairs on Fort Lauderdale’s famous Las Olas Boulevard (https://lasolasboulevard.com/fort-lauderdale-events/category/art-fair).
The living room has plenty of seating with a big, comfy couch and ottoman. (inside, you’ll find games and puzzles to play on a rainy day) The TV is on a remote controlled stand. In it’s down position, it sits under the window, opening up that water view. At the touch of a button, the TV comes up, to perfect viewing height.
The master bedroom has an en suite bath with separate shower and a very large, relaxing bathtub. The bed has a brand new king, split-top, Sleep Number mattress. You can customize the softness on each side as well as have independent, adjustable back rests and the foot of the bed also adjusts at the press of a button. The TV is suspended from the ceiling, and with a remote, can fold up, preserving the open views into the living area, and the all glass sliding door out to the terrace. Very Cool!
The 2nd bedroom, which is down the hall, allowing for privacy, also has it’s own full bathroom and California king size bed.
There is also a full size washer and dryer with laundry sink.

Ce que vous allez adorer dans le quartier

We are located in the quiet, family oriented neighborhood of Coral Ridge, in the city of Fort Lauderdale.

For those unfamiliar, southern Florida is one of the top fishing, yachting and water sports destinations in the world! If you have a boat, all the water has to offer is accessible from our backyard dock … world class fishing, snorkeling and diving, cruising through the canals, water skiing on the intercoastal, etc. There are sand bars to anchor up and socialize with other boaters, as well as numerous restaurants to boat up, tie off and have dinner. No boat, no problem. The Fort Lauderdale marina is just a few miles down the coast. You can book boat rentals, tours, jet skis, diving and snorkeling trips as well as fishing charters. Another great way to explore the area is the Water Taxi (https://watertaxi.com). The captains give you cool info on the massive estates and mansions you pass along the way, and, it gets you where you need to go. The water taxi stop nearest us is just over a mile away, a very easy walk.

And, while boating and fishing are great, many know this area for it’s beaches and warm Caribbean waters. Sitting in the sand, feet in the water, the warm sun and cool winds … it doesn’t get much better. Our home is just over 1 mile from the front door to the sand!! And, the famous Fort Lauderdale beach center, with it’s restaurants, nightlife, parks, etc., is but a few miles down the beach. Our home is also very close to the Middle River. There is a boat/kayak launch, just down the road, and it is perfect for calm water kayaking or paddle boarding.

After your adventures on the water, you’ll want to check out downtown Fort Lauderdale. It is an ever-growing, city center with office and residential buildings supporting a variety of shops and restaurants. Here you will find the famous Las Olas Boulevard, a quaint, tree-lined avenue with some of the best fine dining restaurants in the area, as well as wonderful cafes and gelato shops. However, it is the world-renowned art galleries that for many is the main draw. It’s a great street to stroll, rub elbows with yachters and visitors from all over the world, grab some gelato, and window shop world class art.

Those looking to golf, will not be disappointed either. With 322 days of pure tropical sunshine, it’s golfing weather year round. And, in the greater Fort Lauderdale area there are 63 golf courses, so, don’t forget the clubs!

We are also fortunate to have some great parks in our area, including a state park right out our backyard across the inter coastal, Hugh Taylor Birch (https://www.floridastateparks.org/HughTaylorBirch). This park is the tree-lined backdrop of our view across the canal. There is great hiking and biking amongst a beautiful canopy of trees, and a lagoon to kayak. There are places to picnic, you can camp overnight and it’s on the water taxi route. George English park is less than a mile away, and has basketball, tennis, walking trails, a children’s playground and the launches for boats and kayaks with a kayak rental stand. The largest park in the area is Holiday Park (2 miles), and has everything, from tennis and pickle ball, to roller hockey, baseball and a huge dog park. There are a couple of public parks on the beach near us, as well. Loggerhead Park (named after the turtles that nest in the area, keep your eyes out for them!) and Vista Park. If you swim 100 yards straight out from Vista Park, a beautiful coral reef starts, a great way to get in some easy snorkeling or scuba. The area, in general, is very bicycle friendly. Bayview Avenue, which is the cross street of our home, has bike paths on both sides and is a very nice ride, under mature, leafy trees lining the road. And, the bike paths extend all the way from the beach into downtown Fort Lauderdale.

We have multiple casinos within a dozen or so miles from us as well, for those so inclined including, live thoroughbred racing, harness races and greyhound racing. You may also want to check out the already legendary “Guitar Hotel” at the brand new Hard Rock Casino.

If you’re in town for a cruise, the 3rd ranked cruise port in the entire world (Port Everglades) is located only 7 miles south!

The city of Miami is a short 30 miles south. Again, for those that may not know, Miami is a cosmopolitan, vibrant, culturally diverse city with an ever expanding art scene, to go along with the world famous South Beach Strip and it’s iconic night life! Miami is steeped in Cuban culture, and a walk down Calle Ocho, with it’s cafes, domino parks, and Cuban owned businesses and shops is highly recommended. Do yourself a favor and get a Café Cubano (Cuban coffee). Our Favorite! (https://www.miamiandbeaches.com/neighborhoods/little-havana)

A great way to spend a couple of days is to drive down to Key West (the southern most point in the US), and visit all the keys and islands along the way. Key West is a beautiful city and, if possible, a must visit. Also for an overnight or weekend trip … Orlando, home of Disney World, is approximately 200 miles away.

Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL) is less than 20 minutes away, so all the Caribbean has to offer is but a short flight away!

Le mot de la fin

For more practical purposes, there is a Publix supermarket, and a 24 hour 7-11 convenience store, with a gas station, that are less than 1 mile away. The Galleria Mall, which has high end shops and restaurants is across the street from the 7-11. We are also very close to Fresh Market, Whole Foods and other specialty markets. There is a CVS and Walgreen Pharmacy both within a couple of miles of us. We really are in a nice spot, close to all the Fort Lauderdale fun, but in a nice, quiet residential neighborhood. Anything you may need … dry cleaners, athletic gyms, office/shipping companies, pizza delivery, etc. … are all readily available.

We are sorry, but allergies prevent us from accepting any pets, and no smoking please.
