Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement
Our home is located in the surfside town of Torquay, Victoria. We are situated on 2.5 acres of Bush/Landscaped Land right on the edge of Torquay.
On our property we have "Heatherlee" an original beach house we saved from demolition and restored. The cottage is now used for family and as a BnB for guests. The Cottage comfortably sleeps 4 and has one bedroom and two living areas (one of these has 2 additional single daybeds.) It has a full kitchen, lounge and bathroom but no laundry facilities. There is a laundromat within 5 minutes. It has a gorgeous private yard with big established trees and front verandah for soaking in the country air.
Our family lives in a large shed home at the back of the property also open to exchange which is a double story 4 bedroom shed house! We love sport and getting outdoors so our shed house has another "shed" attached which houses our full size basketball and tennis court. (Half of the court is indoors and half outdoors so you can play all year round!) Downstairs consists of a combined open kitchen, living area, walk in pantry, study, separate shower/toilet and sink area, laundry, and master with WIR. Upstairs is the kids haven with 3 bedrooms, lounge with large TV and Playstation, study, crafty area, library/reading area and music space.
We have a lovely deck out the front to take in the afternoon sun, massive rustic outdoor dining space in our garden alongside the firepit and heaps of room to run about and a family size enclosed Vuly Trampoline. Our property feels like a peaceful retreat but is a few minutes to the heart of Torquay and our amazing surf coast beaches.
The court offers an indoor basketball/tennis/ workout space whilst protected from the rain, wind and sun! Our Basketball ring is fully adjustable so the kids can play too. Bedding configuration is 1 x King and 1 Queen and 2 x Single beds. We have a great selection of surf and boogie boards, bikes and beach gear for you to borrow!
We also own a coworking space in town so if you need to work on the road we can set you up with a desk so you don't fall behind.
Please note the yard and front of the home are old picture and the property is more established than this... will update soon :)

TORQUAY
Torquay, home to the world-famous Bells Beach, is undoubtedly Australia's surfing capital and is also the official start of the Great Ocean Road. In winter Torquay is a sleepy hollow haven and in summer a bustling hub of locals/tourists. We have a small shopping street and wonderful restaurants. If you like shopping you cant go past the factory outlets of the world famous Rip Curl and Quicksilver Surfing Labels. The beautiful beaches are picture perfect all year round and we have to pinch ourselves at times to remember how lucky we are to actually live here! A perfect combination of world famous surf or safe and peaceful coves and bays. Torquay is also home to the Sands Golf Resort and close to 13th Beach Golf Course ranked 6th best public golf course in Australia!
A wide variety of cafes and restaurants dot the foreshore and picture perfect paths and trails along the beaches are the perfect place to explore with a coffee or take a bike ride to the famous Bells Beach or explore further afield along the Great Ocean Walk.
LOCATION
Torquay is around 20km from the city of Geelong (a large city of 300,000 people), and 95 kilometres south west of Melbourne. Travel by car via the Surf Coast Highway. Daily rail services are available from Melbourne to Geelong. Local bus services are available from Geelong.
Avalon Airport is the closest major airport (40min drive) serving mostly domestic routes within Australia while Melbourne Airport (Tullamarine) serves all International flights and is a 1 hour drive away.

More About Torquay
The seaside resort of Torquay features sheltered beaches east of Point Danger and more exposed surf beaches to the west. These beaches include the world famous Bells Beach, a collection of perfectly shaped underwater reefs, which helped Torquay become the Australian capital of the surf industry.
Norfolk pines and sheltered beachside picnic areas are proof of the town’s resort history. Today the town is characterised by two further influences. Many of the young residential population are today employed by the surf industry. Torquay is the birthplace of huge surf companies like Rip Curl and Quiksilver but all around the Surf City Plaza there is a plethora of smaller companies that produce stylish clothes, wetsuits, and boards for international and national markets.
The Surf World Museum houses the history of the sport in Australia and Bells Beach hosts a world championship tour event every Easter.
Many younger residents commute to work in Geelong and even Melbourne. The town has a young population and is one of the fastest growing country towns in Victoria. Torquay boasts a complete range of beaches, from the sandy and sheltered to the rocky, cliff edged, and rough. It caters for water sports of all sorts with excellent venues (and supplies) for windsurfing, surfing, fishing and sailing. There is also a complete range of restaurants.
