If it is peace and tranquility you want, and a central base, then this place is perfect.
A separate, nicely appointed, self catering, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment, plus a private covered patio, with private entrance makes this garden apartment very comfy and homely - completely to yourself.
Clean, neat and fresh. Fully furnished with all all linen, all cookware, crockery, cultery etc......everything you need!
There is a fully fitted kitchen with automatic washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave, gas stove with oven and hob.
Although there is no smoking inside the apartment, there are smoking facilities outside in the patio area.
We have dogs on the property and, although there is a gate to a private garden so they won't get in the way, guests must like animals.
In a leafy suburb and set in a treed garden, there are daily wildlife visitors such as Vervet Monkeys; Hadada Ibis birds; Egyptian Geese; Red-wing Loerie, Woolie Necked Stalks, Kingfishers plus numerous other wild birds.
Excellent neighbourhood and response security.

Our home is in the small residential village of Gillitts which is in close proximity to other villages and small towns. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gillitts) The whole suburb is full of trees with natural and protected spaces.
Being 700m above sea level, the climate is more moderate (tolerable) than Durban's humidity.
NEAREST TOWN: The town of Hillcrest is only about 4kms away and has every shop you would need. Close to shopping centres, many excellent restaurants and coffee shops all within a 10 km radius that are sure to satisfy even the most discerning of taste buds.
COMRADES INTERNATIONAL 90KM RUNNING RACE: Each year in June, this epic International event is held between Durban and Piertermaritzburg. A 2 minutes drive, from our home, takes you to Everton Bridge where you can get pole position to see all 20,000 competitors running for their lives or just for the sheer enjoyment.
MAKARANGA LODGE - a stunning conference centre, wedding venue & restaurant - is set among 30 acres of lush botanical gardens. They welcome visitors for tea or meals and to stroll in the gardens while admiring the excellent works of art. This idyllic spot is just 5 minutes away.
SHONGWENI POLO CLUB: About 10kms away is horse country incorporating Shongweni Equestrian Club which hosts major national and international Polo and other equestrian events. You can browse the local craft market in Inchanga, or take in a meal before returning to Kloof on a coach dating back as far as 1908, pulled by a genuine 1912 steam locomotive.
KRANSKLOOF NATURE RESERVE: The area in which we live is in very close proximity several protected nature reserves providing excellent hiking trails and spectacular scenery, stunning waterfalls, as well as close encounters with wild animals such as Caracal, zebras, different species of buck, Vervet monkeys, plus many other smaller creatures and abundant birdlife. One of the best places to experience this is the Kloof Gorge. This wonderful area is only a few kms away. (https://kknr.org.za)
DURBAN BEACH FRONT: Our home is about 30 kms from Durban Beachfront which underwent a complete upgrade in 2010 and is a beautiful entertainment area - really great swimming areas; the Moses Madiba Football Stadium; numerous restaurants; an amazing aqua centre called uShaka Marine World which houses several open aquariums where it is possible to swim with the sea life; a fantastic water playground for both adults and children and plenty other activies. MIDLANDS MEANDER: A bit further on is the enjoyable Midlands Meander which provides one with a varied array of hospitality, arts, crafts, decor and outdoor activities in a beautiful and unique country setting with the foothills of the Drakensberg mountains as a backdrop.
DRAKENSBERG MOUNTAINS: For those inclined to take up the challenge of hiking and exploring the majestic Drakensberg mountains they are only a 3 hour drive away.
IMFOLOZI / HLUHLUWE GAME PARKS: Only a 3 hour drive from Gillitts is the Umfolozi/Hluhluwe Game Park where the Big 5 are sure to thrill and entertain.
BOARDING SCHOOLS IN OUR AREA: We are also close to a number of private boarding schools, including Highbury, Kearsney and St. Mary's, making ours an ideal place for parents to stay who are coming for the weekend to watch their children play sport or just to spend some quality time together.
