Quinta dos Sonhos, (House of Dreams) is a very special villa, enjoying a fantastic unspoilt location in its own grounds of over 5 acres (20,000m2). It is also our home for the winter months & so you can be assured it is equipped with every modern facility, including automatic air conditioning, private pool & jacuzzi, & free broadband. You'll love the south facing pool terrace with covered dining area & gas bbq and the wooden loungers under their own pergolas to provide welcome shade. On a hot afternoon you'll appreciate the deckchairs under the arcade in the north facing courtyard with a book or a game of backgammon. In the evening you can dine in style in our elegant orangery looking out over Monchique, our local peak 900mts. The master bedroom suite has sitting area & ensuite shower room, while the 2nd bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with tub & adjacent dressing room/nursery. The 3rd bedroom is a twin with level access wetroom across the hall.

Our home is located just outside the friendly village of Mexilhoeira Grande in the Western Algarve. This is one of the few remaining unspoilt coastal areas in Europe with dozens of beaches, pretty fishing villages & harbours, dramatic cliffs & amazing surfing. You can totally chill out in the peace and quiet of Quinta dos Sonhos (house of dreams), & when you prefer the buzz, the excellent resort towns of Lagos & Alvor each with 3kms long sandy beaches are only 15 minutes drive away. If you are interested in birds, you'll love the estuary about 5 minutes drive away, where we see flamingos, spoonbills, grey herons, egrets & stilts in the wetland area and many others in the woodland and scrub area.
We are only 2 hours drive away from both Lisbon & Seville if you wish to combine culture with sea and sun.

Because Quinta dos Sonhos is our secondary home, reciprocal exchanges can be simultaneous or non simultaneous. We prefer to exchange with other secondary homes so that we can both enjoy stays at the best time of year for the area. Although our house has 3 double/twin bedrooms, we wish to exchange only with other couples like ourselves or small parties of 3.
Our home is fully managed & we request 120 euros per week towards meet & greet villa management, villa cleaning, laundry, pool management & garden maintenance.
The garden & orchard have automatic watering & the drive and terraces all have automatic lighting.
Our home is very 'accessible' & wheelchair friendly. If this is important to you, please ask for details.
The small conservatory with white framed glass on the south side of our house is our winter sun room & is not available to our HomeExchange visitors.
The hot tub is emptied in the summer & not available as it is too hot. It is for our use in winter and spring.
