Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement
Our house has a kitchen, living room, three bedrooms, and two bathrooms upstairs, plus a family room (with woodstove and futon), laundry room, and office in the walk-out basement. There are lots of south-facing windows and three sliding glass doors so the house is full of lots of light year round. We have a lovely deck that is surrounded by forest where you can listen to the creek down the hill burble or look up at the stars in the dark sky. We also have a fire pit for backyard s'more making. The second bedroom has a double bed and the third a single loft bed. There are hardwood floors and lots of paintings and pottery for decoration. There's no A/C because we really don't need it. The mountains stay blessedly cool in the summer and the house doesn't get hot even when the temperature climbs because we have an off-white metal roof that reflects the sun. We own a couple fans but never use them! We also have a canoe, two inflatable kayaks, and four inflatable tubes for adventures on the nearby rivers.

The Blue Ridge Parkway and Mountains-to-Sea Trail run through our rural neighborhood six miles from downtown Boone, NC. The neighborhood is surrounded by trees and we live in the center of it, but own 3 acres of forest so only two sides of the house face neighbors (about 50 yards away) and the other two sides, including the deck side, face the woods. A 10 minute walk up the quiet road leads to you to breathtaking long-range mountain views. If you walk another 5 minutes you come to the Mountains-to-Sea Trail and Blue Ridge Parkway, great for scenic walks and drives. There are lots of deer wandering around and we often fall asleep to the sound of owls hooting and wake up to the sound of wild turkeys gobbling. Driving distances:

A car is necessary since no public transportation is available. There is space to park up to four cars. An AWD or 4WD is good to have in winter, though only necessary if there is a lot of snow or ice (we turn our 4WD on maybe once or twice most winters.) The road to the house is paved and plowed by the county.
