Raleigh, NC- makes the US News & World Report's 'Best places to live in the US' again for 2023!
My apartment is situated on the right side of a two-story home, located in the heart of downtown Raleigh right off Glenwood Avenue. I'm 1 block away from the downtown scene, with some of the best restaurants and hangout spots in town including Rockford, 42nd street Oyster Bar, Vidrio, Raleigh Beer Garden, Iris Coffee & more. While this may initially scream "loud, nightlife, drunkies", it is thankfully a pretty quiet neighborhood that doesn't even feel like downtown! I moved into this spot in May 2021 and have slowly been decorating/ furnishing it to reflect a boho, cozy feel with a touch of adventure- you'll find National Park Brochures/ postcards, and photos of travels around. It has all the amenities you need for any length of stay.
Home features:
- Master bedroom with queen bed and full private bathroom w/ bathtub
- 2nd bedroom/ office with a standing desk, curved monitor, and single futon (which I have a memory foam topper for). I also have an additional double & twin size air mattress which can fit comfortably in the office or living room.
- Kitchen with modern appliances & bar seating for 2
- Living room area with 55" TV and streaming services, as well as an additional full bathroom w/ shower
- Shared (w/ 1 neighbor) laundry room which you are welcome to use
- Shared backyard area with grill, fire pit, & outdoor lights and seating for maximum enjoyment & relaxation (disclaimer: mosquitos are pretty bad in the summer but I've got a few tricks to help).
- Other: in my 2nd bedroom I've got quite a bit of high quality adventure gear related to rock climbing, snowboarding, paddleboarding, skateboarding, hiking, etc. You are welcome to use whatever's out as long as you promise to treat it like your own :)
For non-reciprocal exchanges I do ask for a $75 fee to cover cleaning services :)
I believe in taking care of my home and promise to treat your home with the same respect as well. If you have any questions about the property or dates not listed don’t hesitate to ask. Happy traveling!

Ce que vous allez adorer dans le quartier
Neighborhood feel with downtown just a hop skip and jump away. Can walk to gyms, grocery stores, museums, and of course the famous glenwood & fayettville streets!
Raleigh, North Carolina is a hidden gym of the east coast of the US, and great jumping off point to see the USA. As the capital of the state it features several tourist spots, museums, and parks. It’s located near some of the best universities in the country, including NC State, UNC, and Duke. Raleigh has a very laid back vibe and southern hospitality cultural everywhere you go.
A few recommended spots to check out:
- Check out a football/ basketball/baseball game at NC State or hockey game with the Hurricanes at PNC
- Sample some real NC Barbecue at one of the many restaurants in the area (& discover if you're an Eastern or Western BBQ sauce person).
- Stop by one of Food halls on Morgan st or Transfer Co., and sample local favorites
- Do the Raleigh Beer Trail, with more than 30 local breweries in the area (probably not all at once)
- Join a walking food tour or spooky haunted tour in the Oakwood neighborhood.
- Visit the North Carolina Art Museum or History Museum
- Check out the Farmers Market and pick up some local produce & dine at the restaurant, open 7 days a week
- Grab a bike and hit the Greenway trail, stretching over 27 miles.
- Rent a (or borrow my inflatable) Paddleboard / Kayak and enjoy one of the many lakes within 30 min (lake Johnson 8 min, Falls Lake 20-40 min, Shelly Lake, Jordan Lake, Lake Wheeler, etc).
- Drive up to one of the many Triangle Rock Club locations (North Raleigh, 15 min/ Morrisville, 22 min/ Durham 27 min) for some indoor rock climbing fun
- Relive your college days and do the Hillsborough hike pub crawl.
- Catch a show at the Red Hat Amphitheater, PNC, Coast Credit Union Amphitheater, Lincoln Theater, Goodnights, and more
- Visit one of several James Beard award restaurants in the area, including Death and taxes, Crawford and Son, and Garland.
- Head out to Durham for the night for dinner & a Durham Bulls Baseball game (~30 min drive)
