We invite you to visit Monterey, one of the most beautiful and historic places in California. Our home is a compact, but comfortable 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condominium located only a few blocks from the ocean. Our home was recently renovated to be modern, yet unpretentious.
Our fully-equipped kitchen has slight water views. A full sized gas range/oven, with an overhead microwave. A dishwasher, refrigerator, large pantry, and plenty of counter space makes cooking a breeze. But, let's be honest, with all the world class restaurants in the Monterey area, you may want to keep the cooking to a minimum! Should you decide to cook, we have a table that seats 4 comfortably.
Our patio is a wonderful haven to enjoy a bit of cool air while watching the sail and fishing boats. We have patio furniture, including electric blankets and twinkle lights to keep you cozy, even in the cool evenings.
We offer a large primary bedroom with a California King sized bed, with an ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom has a queen size bed and ample closet space. The second bathroom is adjacent.
We have a clothes washer and dryer indoors for convenience. Our living room is small, but has a fireplace to keep warm and a television for relaxing time.

Our home is located in "New Monterey" -- only three blocks away from the world renowned Cannery Row made famous by John Steinbeck. Right down the street are the finest ocean exhibits at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The sheer number of walkable restaurants, ocean views, and lovely shops can not be under estimated. Fisherman's Wharf is a short stroll with restaurants and a beautiful marina.
Whale watching, kayaking, walking along the water-front recreation trail, wine tasting, and shopping are all possible within a few minutes of our home. There are many times when you can hear the seals barking from our patio. Nothing beats putting your toes into the beautiful, but chilly waters.
Monterey was California's first capital; the city's history and architecture are phenomenal, having been established in 1770's by Father Junipero Serra. We have one of the oldest adobe Cathedrals.
Golf? From Pebble Beach to the finest public courses in the world are located in our area.
We've lived in the Monterey area on-and-off for over 30 years. There's a reason why this location is so beloved. Big Sur, Carmel-by-the-Sea, Pebble Beach, and the Salinas Valley are all a short drive away.

Our home is NOT a hotel, NOT a rental, and NOT an AirBnB -- it IS our place to rest, explore, and enjoy. We reserve it only for friends and like-minded home exchangers. We embrace the spirit of HomeExchange - we expect you to read our home descriptor, our profile, and our reviews. If you send a generic message, please expect a generic decline. Our home is not perfect, but it is wonderful!! We treat all our home exchanges with the greatest respect and care; we want the same from our guests.
***In our effort to keep our home up to high cleanliness standards, we currently have a housekeeper that can provide departure cleaning service for $150 - paid directly to her. If you would prefer to clean the house yourself, we would need to make sure that our standards of cleanliness are similar.***
Although we had kitties for many years, at this time, we've chosen to keep our home pet-free. We don't allow smoking in our home and would prefer non-smoking guests.
