Our home feels like a relaxing retreat nestled between the ocean and mountains. We are a 5 minute walk to the beautiful Zuma beach and close to many gorgeous Malibu beaches. We are next to short hiking trails and surrounded by nature. There are very few lights at night so you can see the stars, hear crickets, frogs and coyotes.
You can also walk/bike to a grocery store, restaurant, brewery, Starbucks coffee and clothing shops, which is fairly rare for the Malibu area.
By car, Malibu has a mix of both high end and casual experiences to offer - multiple fine dining restaurants, designer clothing stores, nature hikes, eating at the beach, kayaking and surfing.
Some of our recommended places in Los Angeles to take a quick trip to while staying here are: Santa Monica, Venice, West Hollywood and Manhattan Beach. Outside of LA, Ojai and Santa Barbara are about an hour by car.
To get here you can fly to LAX, Los Angeles airport and a rental car is necessary. It is a beautiful scenic drive along the coast, about 45 minutes by car. You can use Uber, but it can sometimes take a while to find a ride in Malibu specifically.

The neighborhood is laid back, family friendly and you can walk to a grocery store, Starbucks, brewery and restaurant. You can watch a beautiful sunset from the backyard and see the stars well at night.
It is quiet at night, so we ask to keep the party indoors after 10 pm.

More details on accomodations: There is a primary bedroom with en suite full bath, has a standing tub and separate shower with two sinks. Off this bathroom is the laundry room with washer and dryer.
The second bedroom has a full size bed and our third bedroom has a full size futon and TV. The third bedroom also doubles as a yoga/workout space and you will find workout equipment in the closet. Each of these bedrooms have a bathroom attached with shower.
The house has two main living areas, one is meant for relaxing/reading and the other is for dining/entertaining. One room contains a daybed that is also very suitable for sleeping. The other room has a dining table large enough for 6 guests to eat together.
The yard has a pool and ping pong table available for use. It has a beautiful view, especially of the sunset. We also love to play tennis and have racquets and balls at the house and can recommend courts to play at. We do have a pool however the heater is currently broken and we are saving up to have it fixed, so feel free to enjoy a cold swim!
