The apartment is on the 2nd. floor (elevator) of a recently renovated 19th. Century, protected building (built in 1875) . It is 3 mins. walk from Galata tower. 15 mins. walking distance from Istanbul’s bric a brac area of Çukurcuma.
It is just 1min. walk from Istanbul's most famous pedestrian street "Istiklal Caddesi" in the Beyoglu district. Around the corner from your front door you will find Beyoglu’s nostalgic street tram which runs from Tünel to Taksim Square as well as Europe’s second oldest underground the “Tünel” which you can use to get to the waterfront of Karaköy (2mins.) where you can take ferries to Kadiköy and Üsküdar on the Asian side of the city and Balat on The Golden Horn.
The newly developed Galata Port area with scenic walks along the Bosporus is less than 5 mins. by Tünel, or a 15 min. walk. There is an entrance to Istanbul Metro station on the same street as the apartment.
You are a short walk from a scenic waterside park along the Golden Horn, also within walking distance of the Spice Bazaar (15mins) across the scenic Golden Horn (Haliç) walk Bridge and the old city (Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Islamic Art Museum, Archeological Museum, Mosaic Museum, etc.,.25mins.
Around the corner, Istiklal (1min.) is where you can find many restaurants, cafes, galleries, bars, the Pera Museum, Çiçek Pasaji (flower passage) and the outdoor areas of Asmalımescid and Nevizade sokak where you will be spoiled for choice of eateries. The recently opened Metrohan culture center (1min. walk) has free concerts (a few per week). The shopping choices are endless. The apartment is comfortable and has great natural light. It comfortably accommodates up to four people. Taksim square, Galatasaray and Tünel as well as the Galata tower and Mevlevihan (where you can watch the whirling dervish ceremony) are all within 15 mins (or less) walk of the apartment. Step outside the building and buy fresh “simit” or “Açma” breads for breakfast from a street vendor.
Enclosed parking is available close by (3mins. walking distance from the apartment).

Şahkulu neighbourhood in Beyoğlu, is one of the oldest and most interesting in the city. It is home to the famous Galata tower built in the 15th. Century and also has the World’s second oldest Metro system known as Tünel. The architecture in the area boasts many beautiful 19th. Century buildings (as is the case for this apartment which was built in 1875). The apartment is within walking distance of the trendy eateries of Meşrütiyet Caddesi as well as Istanbul’s Çiçek Pasajı , Asmalımescid (5 mins.) and Nevizade areas (15mins. walk)all of which are famous for their eateries. Pera Museum (10 min. walk) Casa Boter, culture center and many art galleries are minutes away. There are many nice Art Noveau details in the buildings in the area. You are not far from Çukurcuma, the antique/bric a brac center of the city. The area is full of quirky shops and restaurants. Lots to see and do. The apartment itself is a quiet and comfortable retreat from the bustle of the city. Walk to the nearby Golden horn which has parks along its banks, a great place to watch the world go by.
