Monsal cottage is a ground floor cottage/apartment dating back to the 1780's positioned in a delightful rural setting, in the heart of the Peak District National Park, Britains oldest national park.
It is an old limestone built barn and retains many of the features.
There are oustanding views and walks from the doorstep
The Peak District National Park is an area of outstanding natural beauty and attracts tourists from all over the world.
It is in the very centre of Britain.
Manchester is 25 miles away to the West and Sheffield is 15 miles to the east.
Edale, the start of the Pennine Way is 8 miles away
It is an old limestone built barn and retains many of the features.
There are oustanding views and walks from the doorstep

Litton Mill is a beautiful hamlet, centred around the former textile mill dating back to the 1780s.
There are only 25 houses in the tiny hamlet with towering limestone walls each side.
It is close to Buxton with its world famous spa and mineral water, Britains highest town nestling into the hills but with an Opera House, Pavillion Gardens and thriving night life, restuarants, pubs and brewerys.
Close to the Monsal Trail, you can see the Trail, it is accessable by a few steps and a short but steep track.
The trail goes all the way to Bakewell 5 miles away, a beautiful bustling market town, the largest in The Peak District.
Perfect for solo travellers or couples.
The world famous Chatsworth house is 6 miles away
The cottage is ideal for exploring on bike or on foot.
The beautiful Dovedale valley and Mam Tor mountain are close by.
You will be spoiled for outdoor activities or beautiful countryside.
There is a wonderful dog friendly village pub in Millers Dale, a mile away along the river which serves home cooked meals 7 days a week and has 4 local beers on Tap.

The cottage is part of a tiny village. There is no designated garden but opens into the village green with benches there. It is on the banks of one of Britains best trout rivers.
A car is probably necessary as there is a journey to the shops and there are plenty of beauty spots to visit.
This cottage is also used as a very popular holiday let so linen and towels are supplied and cleaned for you. The cleaning is also done after you depart. Because of this we charge a one off cleaning fee of £55.
We also allow one dog for an additional cleaning charge of £20.
We consider 4 day exchanges or more except at peak times and holidays when we accept 5 or more days.
There is salt, pepper, oil and some starter teabags, coffee and uht milk pods.
Washing machine tablets, washing up liquid, shower gel, hand soap and shampoo are provided, as are foil and cling film.
Monsal Cottage has two stone steps into the cottage, it is on a ground floor with an open plan lounge-diner-kitchen, one bedroom with a double bed and an electric shower . There is one step up to the toilet and shower. The property is not sutable for a full time wheelchair user, but may be suitable for those with some mobility difficulties. (If in any doubt, please contact us well ahead to discuss in more detail). There are NO grab rails fitted.
