Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement

We have a beautiful family home at the edge of Cambridge next to walks in the countryside but only a bus ride or cycle ride away from the City Centre. The perfect place to come with your family.

Although the house is in Cambridge, it is one house away from countryside and backs onto fields. Free parking, open fire, family games, childrens' toys, DVD player and TV and a large kitchen to cook family meals.

I welcome respectful guests into my peaceful home, but please note this is not a party house - Loud guests, Hen and Stag parties will need to book elsewhere.

Ce que vous allez adorer dans le quartier

We live on a lovely street with trees and hedges along the road. An established residential area with countryside walks outside the front door and backing onto fields.

Cambridge is a university city and the county town in Cambridgeshire, England. It is located on the River Cam approximately 55 miles (89 km) north of London.

Best known for its legendary university, Cambridge is one of the most famous cities in England. With greenery galore and beautiful old buildings as far as the eye can see, it's a popular getaway-spot for Brits and tourists alike. The night life of bars, cafés and restaurants is buzzing and combined with the dryest part of the UK, you can sit out and enjoy the stunning architecture on many days.

It was founded in 1209 (by a group of scholars fleeing Oxford), making it the world's fourth-oldest surviving university. Lord Byron, the famous Romantic poet, is said to have kept a bear while he was a student at Trinity College in the 1800s.

University museums have exhibits on archaeology and anthropology, polar exploration, the history of science and zoology.

From the gorgeous King’s College Chapel to the many student halls in the various colleges and even just the regular administration buildings, it’s sometimes hard to believe that such a beautiful piece of British history is used as an everyday facility by the city’s residents.

Then there’s the opportunity to go punting (in my opinion, one of the laziest and best ways to see parts of the city). Splitting the city in two is the River Cam, which passes by some of the prettiest areas of the city like the city’s own water highway. Over the years, punting has become an institution and a great way to see inside some of the colleges from the river.

You can see King's College for free by booking to go to a chapel service (held most days in term time) in the afternoons/early evenings. Please see my guidebook.

One of the largest and oldest colleges in Cambridge, St John’s is a great place to go. Although Trinity College is Cambridge’s ‘Royal’ college, St John’s is Cambridge’s wealthiest college – evidence of which is showcased, not just in the general appearance of the college but in it’s annual May Ball which makes the news round year after year as one of the best parties in Britain.
