Welcome to our charming home built in 1872 in the heart of Montreux's old town. Nestled within the historical centre of the town, but close to the lake, shopping and train station.
Layout:
The interior layout of the house is split over 3 floors, offering a sense of spaciousness and providing distinct areas for various activities. In total there are 2 kitchens, 2 bathrooms, 4 toilets, 4 bedrooms and one separate office.
First floor (70m2): Complete independent unit with a bathroom with toilet and shower, separate 2nd toilet, full kitchen, bedroom (160x200 double bed) and office. This unit can be available for non reciprocal exchange that sleeps up to 2. The house and apartment may be used simultaneously for exchange partners with larger homes or who may need to house more guests.
Second floor (70m2): A large kitchen with bar and comfortable living and dining area.
Third floor (70m2): bathroom with bath tub, and 3 bedrooms. One parental room with double bed (160x200) and 2 children's rooms with normal single beds.
The carefully preserved period features, such as its wooden floorings, high ceilings and exposed beams, make it a real character home.
However, it is important to note that due to the nature of the property's historical design and its staircases, it may not be suitable for individuals with limited mobility.
One of the most captivating aspects of this home is its terraced garden, a true sanctuary of tranquility. As you ascend the garden path, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the shimmering lake and the surrounding mountain landscape. It's a place where you can unwind, enjoy a BBQ, play with the kids and pick some fresh fruits.
While the garden offers a serene escape, it's important to note that the steep terrain is not ideal for children younger than 6 years.
In consideration of the well-being of all residents and guests, this home strictly maintains a non-smoking policy and Swiss quiet hours are between 10pm - 6am.
We also offer a private parking space in a secure garage, which is a 5 minute walk from the house.

We live in the beautiful old town of Montreux, with its wonderful restaurants and shops, and it's a short 8 min walk down to lake Geneva and it’s restaurants and lake-side with its beautiful flowers and hotels. The Montreux train station is a 8 min walk as well, where there are direct trains to Geneva (1hr), Milano (3hrs), Lausanne (20min) and other places such as Gstaad/Bern/Zurich etc.
In the winter there a number of Alpine ski resorts all less than an hour drive (Verbier, Portes du Soleil, Villars, Leysin, Nendaz, Ovronnaz and many smaller resorts).
In the summer, the mountains are not far either and can easily be reached by train from 2 different train lines only a 3 min or 6 min walk from the house. We literally have a view on the Alps from the house and there are many many hiking possibilities. We can help with suggestions depending on ability.
Montreux also hosts a famous Jazz festival every summer, normally around the first 2 weeks of July.
