Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement
My home is nice in many ways: plenty of space and light in the house - although it's a terraced house. In the summer you can live outside in the garden (40 m deep). I love eating on my terrace and relaxing near the garden house which also has a terrace.
You can park your car in front of the house - but you do not really need a car when you're living in my home.

Ce que vous allez adorer dans le quartier
I live in a quiet (dead end) street, close to the city centre (for shopping or cultural visits) (walk of 15 minutes).
A walk of 10' and you are in the Mechels Broek (protected nature reserve) or in the recreation park De Nekker which has an open air and an indoor swimming pool. There's an ice rink, climbing gym and cinema as well. The train station of Mechelen Nekkerspoel is only 8' walking away from my door - bus stop even closer).
My town is small and historic, really beautiful to visit. Plenty of music in open air (summer).
And if you take the train, you can be in less than half an hour in Brussels (25 km) or Antwerp (25 km) or Leuven (25 km). My favourite town (I used to live there) is Ghent, only 50 km away.

Le mot de la fin
PUBLIC TRANSPORT ACCESS - train / bus : nearby and one doesn't need a car to stay in my home.
Mechelen is known as "Children's City" - and it's one of the nice historic cities of Belgium (think of Ghent, Bruges, Antwerp, Brussels but then smaller).
Apart from all those nice and child friendly places in walking distance from my home (the recreation park, a playground around the corner, Toys Museum "Speelgoedmuseum" at the train station, swimming pool, ice rink) there is the beautiful animal park of Planckendael (part of the Antwerp Zoo, but closer and more space for the animals) and the science and technology "experience" centre, Technopolis .
For the culturally minded : there are also children's tours in the city and its museum "Hof van Busleyden". There's even a theatre dedicated to (little) children only, called "De Maan", where spoken word is often replaced by the language of objects or bodies.
For historians Mechelen is an ideal city: you can walk where the 16th Century Charles V lived as a child, where the the European Thomas More worked on his Utopia - now the museum Hof van Busleyden (recently renovated and re-opened).
My best friend is a very enthusiastic, German speaking city guide - she might be willing to do some extra's for my guests if they speak German..
