Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement

Please note this is an unserviced holiday home. You will need to supply your own sheets, towels & tea towels. No WIFI available.
Our wonderful bach full of character, is an old mill house which belonged to the local timber mill from the 1940-50s. It then spent several years as the Tauranga ski club, before being lovingly restored into a groovy bach full of quirky rustic charm. It's the perfect place to getaway and relax, or to use as a base after your high octane adventures around the Central Plateau.
The space
On rainy days you can snuggle up in front of the fire with a good book, watch a DVD , play cards or just have a good yarn with each other. This is an awesome place to create some great memories in summertime as well as winter.
Please note that there is no fire guard so care must be taken with young children.

Ce que vous allez adorer dans le quartier

It's located a 2 minute walk from The Park restaurant and bar, and 3 minutes from The Schnapps bar where you can enjoy dinner and a drink and a game of mini putt for the kids. 5 minute walk to the lovely Railway Cafe and the start of Fishers Track for mountain bikers and the Marton Sash and Door Cycleway.
If you enjoy hiking there are several reasons to pull on your hiking boots and go exploring. The most obvious is the famous Tongariro Crossing, but there are many other great walks in the region. Check out the Owhango Lagoon for a beautiful 2 hour walk through the bush. There is also the Tama Lakes, Silica Rapids, Whakapapaiti Valley, Taranaki Falls and plenty more.
Take a day trip to the awesome Ruatiti Domain. Bring some tyre tubes and firewood to float down the river and have a BBQ in one of the free old school BBQs afterwards.
If you are into mountain biking we have the Fishers track, 42nd Traverse or head to Horopito and do the Old Coach Rd to Ohakune. When you arrive at Ohakune stop in at the famous Powderkeg for a beer and get the shuttle back to your car in Horopito (have a sober driver!). While you’re there call into the fascinating Horopito Motors full of vintage car wrecks piled on top of each other. The kids will love it!!

Le mot de la fin

NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are required to clean the house and do the dishes before you leave, and please take your rubbish to the refuse centre down the road. Thanks!!
We supply duvets and pillows but you will need to supply linen such as (towels/sheets/pillowcases/tea towels).
