The apartment is on the second floor of an old stone house which forms part of the walls of Cisternino centro storico (old town). Fully refurbished by ourselves in 2016 to make a comfortable home whilst retaining the original character of the building with vaulted ceilings and exposed stone. At the top of the stairs a door to the right leads to a large, bright & airy living room, the master bedroom (not available for guests), a bathroom and stairs to a large terrace above the living room and master bedroom. The living room has three sofas, one of which is a single bed with a quality mattress so it can be used as a bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. To the left of the entry stairs is a fully equipped kitchen / diner, a utility room, and a hall leading to the guest bedroom, bathroom and a small terrace. You will have access to the whole apartment apart from the master bedroom. The guest bedroom has a small work desk and there is fast WiFi (fibre) throughout the apartment.
This is our home however we split our time between Cisternino and Penrith in England so availability reflects the periods when we are not there.
We ask for €60 for cleaning and laundry to be left in the apartment when you leave

Ce que vous allez adorer dans le quartier
Cisternino is located in the Valle d'Itria, home to the unique trulli buildings with cones for roofs. It has a large number of great restaurants and bars and regular live music events in the summer. Roughly half way between the major towns and airports of Bari & Brindisi, it is an ideal place for exploring the rest of Puglia. It is around 20km from the east coast and beaches. There are many interesting places to visit in the vicinity including the world heritage site of Alberobello which is only 20km away
For parkrunners: the amazingly friendly Salento parkrun is about 70 minutes drive, just northeast of Lecce. A two lap, flat course through olive groves. And you can combine it with a visit to Lecce centre or one of the lovely local beaches

From Apr - Jul we are interested in reciprocal exchanges but only to places where we can do a park run, I.e. not France or Spain.
No smoking in the apartment.
The apartment is on the second and third floors of the building so has lots of stairs.
As it is on the edge of the centro storico there can be noise from cars and people enjoying themselves although the guest bedroom is in the quietest part of the house. There is air-conditioning so windows can be closed and shuttered.
There are restaurants and a bakery in the near vicinity so there can be food smells on the terrace and at times a gentle hum from the fan in the chimney from the cafe below us.
Free on-street parking is available nearby and payable parking on the street outside the apartment, both available on a first come basis.
