Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement
This is newly built (2023) structure. It is a cozy and comfortable studio apartment above our garage. It has excellent views of the trees and green space. It is on the same property as our home, but is still private and very quiet. It has direct access to trails that loop through some nice woods or lead to the local community college, Lake Michigan and surrounding neighborhoods.
The apartment itself has a queen Murphy bed with a comfy mattress. When the bed is tucked away, there is a Murphy desk that can be used. Chris uses the desk as a home office (works from home) when the apartment is not occupied. The Crows Neat also has a small kitchenette with oven, microwave and small fridge. There is no dishwasher. Addition, there is a full size shower in the bathroom. You can also enjoy the smart tv from the full-size couch. In short, it is a small space but we think we have covered all the basics.
There are trails right behind the structure as well as some play things like bikes, beach chairs, etc in the garage space below. The studio apartment is located on our property but is still quiet and private. You are welcome to enjoy the fire pit, garden, etc during your visit.

Ranked by National Geographic "Top 10 Summer Trips", USA Today "10 Best Coastal Drives", Fodors "10 Best Small Towns in America" and Countless more - http://www.traversecity.com/traverse-city-accolades-306/
Traverse City has earned its reputation as a four-season destination thanks to its almost endless offerings of activities.
Check out this article from vogue published in May 2023. It gives a great overview of the area. https://www.vogue.com/article/northern-michigan-is-ready-for-the-summer-spotlight?fbclid=PAAaakZ17jP6amIVn14rzOXqANB1sCoEL36n0o7eYCRv0b1yAAZlIxYE_R67M
Outdoor recreation enthusiasts can choose from both summer and winter sports galore (Hiking, Biking, Sailing, Kayaking, Scuba Diving, skiing, snowshoeing, golf, and the list goes). And when you need a break from the great outdoors, you can take in a film at the restored State Theatre, tour a lighthouse, visit one of our many art galleries or take in a museum. Stroll though our vibrant downtown shopping district or venture into the shops, galleries and restaurants at the historic Grand Traverse Commons.
And while our town has been voted one of the most charming places in the country, it's anything but sleepy! You'll find live music for every taste including jazz, classical, indy and rock at our local restaurants and watering holes. Or visit one of the area's two casinos for some vegas-style gambling.
Thanks to its award-winning wines and talented local chefs, Traverse City enjoys an international reputation as a place of surprisingly sophisticated food and drink.
For two years in a row, Midwest Living has listed Traverse City among its Five Top Food Towns, and Bon Appetit has listed it as one of America’s Top Five Foodie towns.
Our eclectic cuisine borrows freely from other regional styles and relies heavily on imagination, boldness and spunk. Capitalizing on fresh ingredients from nearby farms, forests, lakes, streams and orchards our restaurateurs seem to be on a mission to showcase the best of what the area has to offer.
And what could go better with all this culinary bounty than a fine wine? The beautiful Leelanau and Old Mission peninsulas, which our home resides are dotted with vineyards and award-winning wineries that have established a firm reputation for crisp, intensely flavorful wines.
Whatever you choose, you'll see why Traverse City is your complete destination for True North fun!

Le mot de la fin
Experience the Great Lakes! If you have never been in the Great Lakes region, it is a unique and special experience.
Our studio is located at the base of Old Mission Peninsula ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGRi65br30E). We overlook a small preserve with nature trails. You can walk to Lake Michigan (east bay) or Northern Michigan College (which has a bus stop and free shuttle services to most of the major festivals like Cherry Festival and The Film Festival). Our home is tucked in a tree-filled neighborhood and is very quiet, almost retreat-like. During the summer months, we have a lovely flower and raised-bed vegetable garden that you can enjoy. During the winter months, we are within 15 minutes of 2 small ski hills (Mt. Holiday and Hickory Hills) and within an hour of 3 larger ski resorts (Boyne Mountain, Crystal Mountain and Caberfae). We are also home to some of the Midwest's best cross-country ski trails (Vasa Trail system) We are about 2.5 miles from the downtown district.
This is a small space but comfortable and well appointed. It is a really nice landing pad to enjoy all the adventures of Traverse City.
We love being a part of the Home Exchange community. Over the last few years (we joined in 2020) we have met some amazing people and visited some spectacular places. We are open to lots of ideas and suggestions. Feel free to reach out if you are interested in checking out Traverse City.
Cleaning fee for non reciprocal exchanges is $75. We will have it professionally cleaned for your visit.
