Sonhos Cósmicos (Cosmic Dreams) is a guesthouse and retreat centre that is dedicated to facilitate space for everyone that wants to recharge, get inspired and reconnect with their own peaceful being. Waking up to the call of birds and the infinite streaming water is enough to make your day flow at ease. You will have access to the whole of the ground floor of the house and the garden. Upon entry you arrive into the living and dining room of the house, with wood-burning stove and board games to choose from. Through the doorway you find our lovely pink and fully equipped kitchen. From here you can find the annex space - with the second dinning room which can also be used as an extension of the meditation and yoga room which has a jaw-dropping panoramic window. Outside there is a large terrace which soaks up the sun all year long, and there are plenty of private spots in the garden to sit and read or contemplate. From here you can take the staircase leading down to the river, which is a perfect spot to take a swim.
Ce que vous allez adorer dans le quartier
Barril de Alva is a small village with around 280 inhabitants. The community is very active and there is lots going on that we can share with you - weekly markets selling artisan goods and produce, community celebrations, theatre performances, dance classes and much more! From our house it is a 5 minute walk to the centre of the village where you can find a small cafe, which also sells fruits, vegetables and a small selection of other food items. From here you can walk another 5 minutes down to the restaurant Quinta Urtigal, which has a buzzing atmosphere in the evenings and weekends - often with live music! There are some nice circular walks you can do from here, either crossing the bridge and walking along the mountainside into the neighbouring town of Coja, or looping down by the picturesque River Alva and back up into the village. The idyllic town of Coja is a 5 minute drive away (30 minutes on foot) and has a grocery store, many excellent restaurants, a post office, newsagent, and many shops selling handicrafts and other goods. The nearest big supermarket (Lidl) is in Tábua, a 20 minute drive away.
