You and your family will enjoy the beauty of the surrounding mountains and lakefront living in our beautiful guesthouse. Lake Adger consists of several small private communities fitting into the natural landscape on 3200 acres surrounding the 438-acre lake with its 14.5 miles of natural shoreline.
We are located on the north side of Lake Adger on a five acre lakefront lot with over 500 feet of shoreline. This is convenient to Tryon International Equestrian Center and is ideal for couples or families visiting that venue or exploring the surrounding area. A large dock with a kayak and utility box (storage for life jackets, water toys and accessories) provides the opportunity to enjoy the serenity of the lake. Lake Adger is a deep water lake with restricted access, such that jet skis and waterskiing are not allowed. Boats are restricted to 80 horsepower for pontoon boats and 60 horsepower on other boats. Other than that, enjoy the lake by canoeing, kayaking, swimming and fishing.
Our timber frame home was completed in August 2013 and the guesthouse in 2015. The guesthouse opens into the main level sitting area and kitchenette. The upstairs loft has the main bedroom, outside of which is a bunk bed (a double/single bed combination). Both the main level and loft have a wonderful view of the lake.
Summary of sleeping arrangements:
- Main bedroom - queen bed (1 or 2 people)
- Loft - bunk with double and single beds (2 or 3)
- Main level sitting area - futon - double - best for kids in sleeping bags (1 or 2)
With older children or multiple couples this may be limited by the availability of a single bath.
There is ample parking with easy unloading and loading of suitcases and such upon arrival and departure. A breezeway leads to a walkway with easy access to the dock and lake, although the stairs may be a challenge for some of us older folks.
- Because this is not our normal living space it is available and absolutely private most of the time. Please check with us for specific dates.
- Absolutely no smoking indoors, please.
- We may or may not be at the main house during your stay but privacy is not an issue.
