Our home is a fabulous modern architect designed property situated in a commanding position within the popular village of Calstock, Cornwall overlooking the river Tamar with far reaching views across to the countryside and the picturesque railway viaduct.
The property is private and peaceful, yet only 5 minutes walk into the cute Cornish village of Calstock with 2 pubs, a social club, café, ice creamery, arts centre, art gallery and church. 5 minutes walk to the train station takes you on picturesque 35 minute ride into Plymouth, where it joins the main line into London Paddington in about 3 hours.
The property lies within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Tamar Valley has World Heritage status. The Valley has an extensive array of wildlife, meandering rivers, with lovely walks from the doorstep in ancient woodlands and wetlands. The popular market town of Tavistock is only 7 miles away, and a short drive away is Dartmoor National Park for moorland walks/biking. Cotehele House, owned by the National Trust is within walking distance , and St Mellion Golf course and leisure centre is a 15 minute drive away. Calstock is in east Cornwall with easy access to explore the beautiful coastline of north and south Cornwall, and also the county of Devon and the West Country beyond. Other nearby attractions include the historic fishing villages of Looe and Polperro, Polzeath - a sandy surfing beach with breath-taking coastal walks, the Eden project, Tintagel castle etc. Plenty of ancient history and so many beautiful sites to explore!
The house consists of a stunning open plan kitchen/living area with a high curved ceiling. Bi-fold doors lead out onto the south-facing balcony with a large outdoor dining/sitting area with a gas BBQ where you can enjoy the views. The large dining table seats up to 6. Off the living area is a sunroom/reading room with triple aspect windows, overlooking the stunning views. The sitting room has a wood burner, comfy chairs, and sliding doors leading out onto the south facing terrace .
Downstairs consists of open plan study with sofa bed, 2 large double bedrooms all with en-suites and walk-in wardrobes. The master bedroom has a king bed, large walk-in wardrobe , en suite bathroom (with bath and shower), TV, and peaceful woodland views from the sliding doors.
The house also benefits from a large laundry room with plenty of hanging space for drying and storage. It is eco - efficient and all of the rooms have underfloor heating throughout the house.
This is a no smoking house, but the large balcony can be used. Please note, this is not suitable for a party house out of respect to our neighbours.
There is parking for 2 cars, with a turning bay.
We will consider points reduction for long term points swaps and require payment for electricity used. Meter reading for electricity can be taken at any time with estimated costs.
Please note a cleaning fee of £100 applies, but may be waived for longer term swaps.

Calstock is a small pretty village in mid Cornwall. There are 2 good pubs serving local food within 5 minutes walk (uphill coming home!). Fantastic walks accessed from the house in the woodlands or around the wetlands adjacent to the riverbank. For walking/biking enthusiasts Dartmoor is a 15 minute drive away with stunning rugged scenery and lost of trails. Several good golf courses are nearby including the Jack Nickolas designed course at St Mellion. The market town of Tavistock, Devon is 7 miles drive, the closest supermarket is 5 miles away in Callington. Plenty of local typically English pubs are within easy driving distance. Situated midway between the north and south coasts of Cornwall near the border with Devon provides easy access to many historic and picturesque villages, coves, and beaches in the South West of England. 5 minutes walk to the local station where you can hop on the pleasant train journey for 35 minutes to the historic seaside city of Plymouth, and a further 3 hour journey gets you to Paddington, London.
