Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement
Our house is a comfortable detached family home in a suburban cul-de-sac. It has two floors and is set on a plot of 650 square metres.
It has a spacious living room, open plan kitchen and dining room, two shower rooms, four bedrooms and study. It is set on two levels - we completed the loft conversion in 2011 and the dining extension in 2016.
We have many toys and games for all ages, DVDs, PS5, books - please feel welcome to use them all. We also have two smart TVs with good internet connection/wifi/Netflix/Disney+/Amazon Prime etc. There is also a small dedicated office space if you need to work!
We have a nice private rear garden. It has an outdoor eating area to seat 8 people, swings, slide, two tree houses with bridge, trampoline, climbing frame, basketball net, playhouse and football nets. It is completely enclosed and safe for younger children. We also have one adult folding bike, adult scooter and a selection of children's bikes and scooters that you can use.
We have a travel cot, high chair, stair gate etc for babies/young children if required. Please note we have two 'high sleeper' beds accessed up a ladder - see photos. Mattresses can be lifted down if required.
Our home is not a 'show home', and there are always things we would like to improve and update, but you will find it clean, tidy and equipped with everything you need for a nice holiday.
We have a detailed manual for everything in our house, but our parents live in the area and can help with anything you need.
Our 7 seater car is an option and we would hope to swap cars if possible/ if required.

Ce que vous allez adorer dans le quartier
Our house is located in a cul-de-sac in the suburbs of Bangor, a seaside town on the southern side of Belfast Lough. The first 13 photos (after the house photos) are all within a 10 minute drive from our house. which gives you an idea of our beautiful location on Belfast Lough.
Bangor is situated 13 miles (22 km) east from Belfast and just 30 minutes by train or bus with Belfast City Airport even closer. The local train station (to Belfast and beyond) is less than 10 minutes walk.
Bangor has plenty of local restaurants (some where kids eat free), pubs, golf courses, tennis, fishing trips, a cinema and olympic size swimming pool (with water park, slides and wave machine for kids). A large Tesco supermarket is just a two minute drive from our home.
The North Down Coastal Path with fantastic views of the ocean is just a 12 minute walk away - it stretches for many miles along the coast and is far removed from traffic - perfect for walking. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tm8C76iXznc
Pickie Fun Park in the heart of Bangor is a great place for young families. Bangor Marina is one of the largest in Ireland.
The Titanic Visitor Centre (winner of world's best tourist attraction 2016), Belfast City Centre, The Ulster Folk and Transport Museum, Mount Stewart (National Trust), Scrabo Tower are all within 30 minutes drive. Within 90 minutes driving distance are the world famous Giant's Causeway, The Mourne Mountains and The Glens of Antrim. World famous 'Game of Thrones' TV Series is also filmed here - tours are available. These are just some of the many attractions for you to explore. We have information on many activities and can communicate with you to help plan your holiday.
Lonely Planet voted Belfast and the Causeway Coast the top destination to visit in the world for 2018! In 2011 the National Geographic Traveller voted Belfast one of the top 10 places to visit in the world. Also Trip Advisor 2011 said Belfast is the best value UK city. Lonely Planet 2012 said 'Get here early and enjoy it before the rest of the world arrives'. In 2013 Lonely Planet ranked Northern Ireland in the Top 10 destinations to visit in Europe.
Dublin is just a two hour train journey away.
The three closest airports are George Best Belfast City Airport, Belfast International Airport and Dublin Airport. Dublin Airport is just 100 minutes on the motorway and has the most flight choices.
Whether you want to explore the scenic parts of Ireland or enjoy the buzz of Belfast is entirely up to you. We're in a perfect location for both.

Le mot de la fin
We are a family of five. Simon and Natalie are married in their 40s. Simon is a town planner and Natalie is a pharmacy technician. Our three children were born in 2008, 2011 and 2016. We have done 13 home exchanges including destinations in France (6), Switzerland, Spain, Netherlands, Scotland and Ireland. We have grown to love exchanging our home which requires openness, trust and honesty. We prefer reciprocal exchanges. We have lots of information on places to go that we can share before our exchange that will help you prepare for your holiday. We will also keep in touch during the holiday by WhatsApp etc if required. Ideally we'd like a house with a garden and a swimming pool would be perfect! We are happy to swap cars and have done so 8 times. Our cat will require feeding and some cuddles....she is friendly and affectionate but please know she is a hunter and will sometimes bring home 'presents'. On previous exchanges we have looked after cats, chickens, rabbits, sheep and tortoises!
