Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement
We are especially interested in swapping with other families, who, like us, are looking for an immersive cultural and linguistic experience. We would love to help you and your family settle into our house and community for a month this summer, and can provide detailed information about local children's camps, family activities, and local attractions. We'd be delighted if you could do the same.
Our home has a main house with a primarily open-living plan on the first floor (which includes a professionally designed living and dining room; as well as a large kitchen overlooking a back porch --perfect for grilling and relaxing in the summer-- and extensive and private back yard). On the second floor there is a master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and three smaller bedrooms and another full bath. Attached to the main house is a in-law apartment (with a private entrance and back porch). The basement has a small gym area (treadmill, weights) and full bathroom.
For summer fun, we are about a 3-minute drive away from Pomps Pond, where the family can relax, swim, and enjoy the outdoors. There are lifeguards on site, swim lessons available, and plenty of activities for children. Local ocean beaches include Plum Island, Wingaersheek, and many other beaches along the coast about a 35-45 minute drive away.
We are new to home swapping. We'll treat any home opened to us with care and respect, and would ask that you do the same for ours. We have a family car available for swapping as well.

Andover, Massachusetts is a classic New England town, located about twenty miles from Boston. Our house is tucked away in a secluded area, but the town center is just a 5-minute drive, and has charming restaurants and boutique stores. Pomp’s Pond is five minutes away, and offers relief from summer heat, a sunbathing area, a shaded picnic ground, a children’s playground, bathrooms, showers, and a concession stand. There are numerous scenic hiking and biking trails located in and around Andover. Andover is also home to picturesque Phillips Academy, a historic and storied private secondary school, whose grounds and Addison Art Gallery are open to community visitors.

A 30-40 minute train ride will bring you into the heart of the city, where you can visit sites such as the Freedom Trail, with its historic landmarks (churches, meeting houses, a centuries-old market) linked to colonial times and the American Revolution; Fenway Park, where you can attend sporting events (such as Boston Red Sox baseball games); the Boston waterfront, where you can shop at Faneuil Hall, or embark on a Harbor Cruise, an Old Town Trolley tour, or a Duck Tour. Other Boston attractions include the Museum of Fine Arts, the theater district, and world-class dining and shopping on Newbury Street and in the surrounding area. Cambridge, Massachusetts, is just a stone’s throw away from the Boston city center (a 10-minute drive across the Charles River). Cambridge is home to Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the associated Harvard Art Museums, Harvard Museum of Natural History, and the Museum of Science. Summer is a great time to shop and dine in the eclectic and culturally rich Harvard Square area, or to canoe or kayak on the Charles River.
