Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement
***From May/June 2025 onwards we will have an extra bedroom option downstairs***
We are very lucky to live in a stone-clad, 3 bed detached family home in the wonderful town of Ilkley. We have lots of natural light and beautiful views in to the wood and across the moor. It’s a calm, peaceful and comfy place to be as our house is at the top of a cul-de-sac with pedestrian access up to the moor. If you like walking, climbing, fell running or cycling then this is the place for you.
We have 3 bedrooms: our biggest bedroom has an en-suite, a lovely comfy bed and 2 dedicated work stations, our second bedroom has a wonderful king size bed with woodland views, the third bedroom is our 6 year old daughter's room with a mid-sleeper bed with space for an extra mattress underneath. Our living room offers additional sleeping possibilities as it is self contained with a large L shaped sofa that can act as 2 single beds. We can also provide a baby travel cot and inflatable kid's bed.
Our house has a lovely house bathroom upstairs with a big walk-in shower and separate bath; there is also a further downstairs loo. In addition to the spacious living room, we have a large kitchen diner with windows facing in all directions around the house, with views out to the woods and the moors. The kitchen also has a small utility room and a pantry. Our house is surrounded on all sides by our sloping garden, which was lovingly planted by the former owners; so there is always something beautiful in blossom. We have recently updated the lower part of the garden with a multi-tiered patio area and hammock space.
We also have a large garage area that you can use to store any outdoor gear (but please let us know in advance if you would like to use this).

Ilkley was awarded the best place to live in the UK in 2022 and you can read more about that here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-61037264
Our town is the ideal base for a holiday in the Yorkshire Dales. Known for its Victorian architecture, Ilkley is a delightful blend of history and natural beauty. The town is surrounded by the picturesque Ilkley Moor, offering stunning views and a variety of outdoor activities. With its unique shops, excellent restaurants, and a rich cultural scene that includes a literature festival and a summer music event, Ilkley offers a vibrant and diverse experience for visitors. Whether you’re a history buff, a nature lover, or a foodie, Ilkley has something to offer everyone.
From our house you can walk to the iconic cow and calf rocks in 15 minutes and take in the stunning scenery of Ilkley moor, or head down the hill to our wonderful local pub and butchers. With many independent shops, cafes, restaurants, theatres and a cinema, Ilkley is an excellent destination for a holiday. It’s a great base for exploring the wider Wharfedale and North York Moors area or for visiting the big cities of Leeds and Bradford. Leeds Bradford airport is a 20 minute car journey away and there are regular buses between the airport and Ilkley town centre. Alternatively, it's about a 2 hour drive from Manchester airport.

Le mot de la fin
We have a dog, but he is a toy poodle so his fur does not shed. Unfortunately, we are unable to take other dogs in our house and will not be bringing him with us on home exchanges.
We are located at the top of a hill and although you can walk into Ilkley in just under 20 minutes, coming back takes longer as you are going against gravity! Ben Rhydding train station is at the bottom of our hill with regular trains to and from Ilkley (the journey is 3 minutes) as well as Leeds and Bradford. By car, it's 5 minutes or less in to the centre of Ilkley from our house.
