Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement
My home is a modern, quiet light-filled 2-BD 2-Bath house surrounded by garden spaces in Australia's capital. Because the house sits behind a tall gate at the end of a drive bordered by tall hedges at the back of a large lot with another house at the front, it is very secluded . . . most people are not even aware the house exists. Someone once remarked it was like entering Narnia!
All of the floors are either natural bamboo or ceramic tile. The kitchen and all storage spaces are quite large. A washer and dryer are available as well as two clotheslines at the back.
A third bedroom is used as an office/work area, and the house has fast wi-fi and a wi-fi enabled colour printer.
There is an attached garage and the yard is completely fenced. The back area has raised vegetable beds, while the front side area has new landscaping and plantings, as well as a small covered deck. (New photos of the exterior areas will be posted in a few weeks.)
At least half of the furnishings in my house are "pre-loved," which suits me from a sustainability and eclectic point of view.
Whilst not strictly "wheelchair accessible," there are no steps in the house or to its entrance. There are steps off the side deck, but it can be accessed from the home interior without traversing steps. I myself have used a wheelchair in and out of the house when I broke my leg a few years ago.
PLEASE NOTE: This is my primary residence, so availability depends on my own travel plans. At the moment, I have no plans to travel January through June of 2025. Feel free to contact me if you are interested in the house after that time.

Ce que vous allez adorer dans le quartier
The neighbourhood is tree-lined, walkable and family friendly. Small green parks are scattered throughout the neighbourhood, which is typical of Canberra.
The location is a 10-15 minute drive to the airport and city center, close to public transport, walking distance to neighbourhood shops, and just two streets away from Mount Ainslie walking trails. The neighborhood shops comprise an independent grocer known for the best cheese selection in Canberra (and overall, a dream for foodies, including plants for your garden when the season is right), a corner pub, small cafes & bakeries with indoor and outdoor seating, a liquor shop, post office, dentist, pharmacy, news agency and more.
As the nation's capital, there are many things to do: galleries, museums, zoo, arboretum, botanical garden, lakeside activities, symphony, markets, festivals and a delightfully broad collection of international cuisine.
Canberra is about 2 hours drive from the Australian "Alps" – nothing like Europe's Alps or the Rockies, but the only place on the Australian mainland where one can ski – 2 hours drive from the Pacific coast, and 3 hours drive to Sydney. I can't promise, but especially during the dry season, kangaroo are often seen just after sunset in the neighbourhood streets. Possums have been known to scamper across the roof and Australian birdlife love the area.

Le mot de la fin
There is an electric bike in the garage (you may have to pump up the tires), and for long-term stays, a car may be negotiable. An elliptical trainer is available on the small porch overlooking the back garden beds.
