Our home is on a quiet dirt road, a short drive to the Town of Vineyard Haven and the north side of the Island. First time rented in 2022, a cherished family home.

Peaceful 2 acre wooded property surrounded by trails, ponds and Vineyard Open Land Foundation property. The house comfortably accommodates up to 12 guests in 5+ bedrooms with 4 full (updated) and one half-bath. HomeExchange calculates 18 people max - we would not rent to a group that size. Unique, very roomy floorplan with hand-carved and painted woodwork/tile details. Central air purification and de-humidification. 4,200 sq. feet of living space and a 1,200 sq. foot upper deck (+ large lower covered deck) can accommodate large family or small reunion gatherings. Outdoor shower off the Master on the upper deck. Lower deck leads to a second outdoor shower on the other side of the house by driveway.

Master bedroom on main floor. Another large bedroom on main floor has a Restoration Hardware bunk with full-size Purple beds, a twin with trundle and a full bath. Lower level has two bedrooms - one with a king and the other with two twins. Lower level also has a “game room” with shuffleboard and one of three built-in HD Smart TVs. The two bedrooms on the lower level share a large, updated bathroom with a shower and tub. There are two family /gathering rooms on the main level, one big enough for both a larger gathering - and table tennis. The kitchen opens up into the other family room. There is a Peloton bike.

Off the lower, fieldstone deck is a two-bedroom ''guest suite''. One bedroom in the suite has a queen bed, the other has a day/twin bed with an ''elevated'' trundle. They can be used as side-by-side twins (a ''6th bedroom'' if used as such) or sitting area. This detached guest area has its own full bath, smaller fridge and an HD Smart TV.

There is a second outdoor shower and sunny smaller deck off the apartment suite in the back of the home.

Central air with mini-split wall units in ''distant'' rooms and guest apartment. Full sized washer & dryer in utility room, new gas grill on large upper deck.

Sonos sound system throughout most of the home - and outdoors on upper deck - which can be controlled with your phone and your Sonos (and/or Spotify) accounts. An open kitchen has a new double convection oven and all the equipment required to assist the artful chef.

Outside, a path leads to a fieldstone-lined grass field with a bocce court and plenty of room for volleyball, badminton or frisbee.

Full wireless internet access throughout home.

Linens and towels (beach and bath) are provided.

Newer bikes available.

The car (2016 Mazda SUV) can be rented for $100/day. It can be helpful to MV visitors that have difficulty getting a ferry reservation, or that need a second vehicle during their stay. It is used only by us and our guests.

Considerable parking space.

Pets are not allowed, unfortunately. Will consider some non-shedding, hypo-allergenic dog breeds - that stay off furniture ;-). Must be discussed and agreed to.

We use a cleaner after guests (Renters and Exchanges) leave. On MV, all services are expensive (relative to the mainland). During the (crazy) Saturday turnovers during the summer I pay professional cleaner and her team $800(!). In the off-season, (esp. if Talita is not cleaning Saturday between 11 - 4PM) when new guests are arriving same-day (Sat. with tight "window"), her rates will be lower. I will update with more specifics - although each family will vary depending on time of year, # of people, beds used, etc.

Somewhat remote, although there are two homes within short walking distance. Not isolated entirely - woodsy with a large yard.

Cleaning cost is $800 (weekly), unless otherwise arranged and agreed to. This is the actual cost and payment can be made directly to cleaner, or to homeowner.
