Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement
Welcome to our comfortably equipped yet traditional family house in Austrian style that accommodates all your holiday needs. Enjoy our garden and feel free to eat apples, plums, peaches and cherries straight from the trees (obviously depending on the season ;-) Have breakfast and coffee or simply chill out on our spacious balcony with the mountain views. Children will surely enjoy the garden house with slide, swings and the sand box while parents will cook delicious BBQ.
Ce que vous allez adorer dans le quartier
To start off there is a small hill just behind our house where you can climb up (30 min), sit on the bench at the top and enjoy the beautiful Bad Aussee view while you allow your mind to release the stress and drift away ;-)
Bad Aussee - the geographic middle point of Austria. Just a few min. by car, bike or simply walking you'll get to the city center of Bad Aussee. This is one of the most authentic, traditional and scenic places also known as "Hearth of Austria". There are romantic streets, cafes, parks, idyllic places, rivers and bridges and panorama view trail around the town. Check out authentic hand-made lederhosen shops and you'll surely see the local people wearing beautiful traditional dresses on the streets. The local area is not short on things to do. There is a golf, tennis, squash, skate park and luxury Narzissen Bad Spa with inside and outside pools and saunas.
Grundlsee
Within a 5 min. distance by car you can reach the lake Grundlsee, which offers many natural beaches and wonderful bicycle routes. In addition to "regular" activities you can rent a paddle board or dive into the lake with an instructor even in winter under the ice! Don't miss out a "3-Lake-Cruise" (from May until October). Starting in Grundlsee you will get by motor boat and short walk to mysterious Toplitz See where is allegedly hidden secret Nazi golden treasure. From there another boat will take you to the romantic Kammersee, passing the beautiful waterfalls. This is a very unique Jurassic Park-like place which is also the origin of river Traun.
Altaussee
Just by 15 min. driving you can reach the famous Altaussee, the picturesque traditional spa town nestled on the shores of lake Altaussee circled by beautiful mountains, popular for the 8km long trail around the lake especially for jogging or relaxed walking with family or friends. The biggest active salt mine in Austria is also located here. Sliding down by tunnels into hearth of mountain and visit underground salt lake is unforgettable experience for the whole family. Just a little bit further is Loser Mountain where you can drive up with car on the panorama road all the way to 1540 m above sea level. Loser also offers a range of activities all year round like hiking, mountain & cross-country biking, rock climbing, skiing, snowboarding, free ride in powder snow, ski alpinism or paragliding just to name a few.
Hallstatt
Within half an hour driving you will reach Hallstatt. The Unesco world heritage is such spectacular place that there is even a copy of the town in China. Perfect for a day trip, you can enjoy walking around the town, visit Hallstatt's museums, have a great dining experience on the side of fjord-like Hallstatt lake. It's located at the foot of Mountain Dachstein. The mountains rise up to almost 3.000 meters, rugged with deep gorges and rocky summits surmounting everything. Breathtakingly beautiful. There is a seemingly endless list of activities for adrenalin seekers, kayaking, canoeing, diving or climbing and list just goes on.
Bad Ischl
Located about half an hour drive north you can find another great option for a day trip. Fashionable spa town which has Emeror Franz Jozef in 1849 chosen for his summer residence. The highlight is to see the Kaiserpark and Kaiservilla with originally preserved chambers of Empress (Sisi) Elisabeth. Highly recommendable is to have a ride with a cable car to the top of the mountain above Bad Ischl and enjoy the view.
Salzburg, Graz, Cesky Krumlov and other cities are still within reasonable distance for a day trip. The opportunities are endless for your perfect holiday, whether you want to relax or get an adrenaline kick. For more info on summer and winter activities please visit Bergfex.
Ski Resorts in the area There is a small ski lift (800m) just 5 min. away by Grundlsee with easy slope suitable for kids or recreational riders. Within 15-20 min drive you can visit nearby Loser Mountain Ski Resort or larger Bad Mitendorf/Tauplitz Ski Resort with 17 cable cars and 42 km of slopes. There also a great freeride area.
Within half an hour there is a Dachstein West ski resort with 66 cable cars and 142 km of slopes of all difficulties.
Around one hour driving is a world class ski center Schladming.
