OUR LOCATION
We are in the heart of Leucadia, just off an impeccably cute stretch of California’s famous Highway 101 in the City of Encinitas, a town perfect for families, surfers, skate boarders, yogis, nature lovers, or people just looking for relaxation in perfect weather.  This is an extremely desirable place to be.  Encinitas will make you fall in love with San Diego. As the NY Times described, “You’d be hard-pressed to find a more quintessential California surf town than Encinitas, a sun-drenched pocket of coastal North County San Diego where wetsuits hang like flags from bungalow porches and taco shops promise ‘No shirt, no shoes, no problem.’”  Leucadia is the quirky, well established beachside community that has the best of Encinitas.  We are near gorgeous beaches, with accessibility to every activity under the San Diego sun.  By car or by bike, your vacation dream is a reality.  San Diego culture brings outdoor living to the forefront, and Leucadia typifies the chill lifestyle we are known for.  You’ll enjoy supporting our local businesses and taking in our laid-back culture.  Want a night downtown?  Ride the Coaster Commuter Rail Service (and plan to Uber back!). Our property features a huge backyard with room for the kids to run free.  This is where you want to be.

SURFERS AND BEACH LOVERS, this home is just a twenty minute walk (or fun bike ride!) to Leucadia State Beach (Beacon’s) and a little farther to South Ponto Beach.  You’re a quick drive to picturesque Moonlight Beach, where you’ll find a huge snack bar, a park for the little ones, and everything your family needs for a day at the beach.  We are close to all the great surf breaks, including Swami's and Grandview!

GOLFERS, tee off at any of many public courses nearby, including Encinitas Ranch Golf Course, a course that feels way too good to be so easy to access.  Or find your way to where the pros play at world-famous Torrey Pines, home to the US Open in 2021.

YOGA PEOPLE, we are biking-distance to dozens of world-class yoga studios, as the practice of yoga hit Encinitas in the 1920s and the culture holds strong 100 years later with virtually every style of yoga represented. This is the spot, whether you crave a deep practice at Gather, hot yoga at Yoga Tropics, or a class with a spa treatment afterward at Four Moons Spa. The meditation gardens at Self-Realization Fellowship are open to the public, and bring travelers from all over the world year-round; don’t miss it!

NATURE LOVERS, you are a quick walk to the Coastal Rail Trail!  Rent bikes (or eBikes!) from the bike shop down the street and cruise the rail trail or hop around town to check out the many beautiful surf spots Encinitas is known for.  Hike the Manchester Preserve, take in the tide pools by Swami’s, or take a drive to Torrey Pines State Reserve for unforgettable views from the cliffs.

FOODIES, you will be thrilled with our many amazing restaurants, coffee shops, and local craft beer tasting rooms, old and new.  You’re just a mile from Valentina, which Vogue listed as “where to eat” in San Diego. You’re a stone’s throw from the Mexican restaurants that form the heart of San Diego; figure out if you’re a Roberto's person, or if you prefer El Nopalito, Filiberto’s, Lourdes, Haggo’s Organic Taco, or The Taco Stand, to name a few.  Walk to Saint Archer to grab a beer at Beacon’s.  San Diego’s brewery culture is strong in Encinitas, with Duckfoot, Saint Archer, and Modern Times tasting rooms. We have grocery stores and farmers markets to live for.  You’re near Pannikin Coffee & Tea for your morning joe and pancakes in the old railway station or in their Adirondack chairs outside, or make your way to Ironsmith Coffee Roasters or Lofty Coffee Company for that perfect cappuccino. For an upscale experience, Vaga at the Maria Alila Hotel, Herb & Sea, or Cocina Barrio. Line up for classic (and peerless) doughnuts at VG Donut, or stay healthy with avocado toasts and Acaí bowls at Better Buzz.  In Leucadia, healthy eating is easy to find and the kombucha and green juice are free flowing on tap.  When it’s time to indulge, you’ll find artisanal ice cream shops up and down Highway 101.  At night, the Encinitas bar scene includes old favorites like thhe Daley Double (aka Saloon), a mainstay since 1934, as well as newer bars like SHELTER and Sago.

SHOPPERS, you’ll find many hidden gems along the 101, from small boutiques to local brands’ flagship stores, from Vuori, to Aloha, Brixton, and Nixon.  If any town invented athleisure, it would have to be Encinitas.  But before that, we had Hansen Surfboards, with every sunny California brand represented, from longboards to homemade skincare, wetsuits to surf-brand onesies.

SAN DIEGO TOURISTS, this is your home base to hit up LEGOLAND, the Carlsbad Premium Outlets, and broader San Diego attractions like the San Diego Zoo, Safari Park, Sea World, Birch Aquarium, Mission Bay, Coronado, and Balboa Park. Disneyland is just an hour away. Even Baja California, Mexico is less than an hour drive.

We are looking forward to hosting you in our special place!
