Kamloops is in the heart of British Columbia's sunny Southern Interior and is easily accessed by road, air, and rail. Our home is in the Aberdeen neighborhood and is 25 minutes from the Kamloops Airport, 10 minutes to downtown and less than 5 minutes to major grocery stores, liquor stores, shopping areas and casinos.
In Kamloops, the summers are long, and the winters are filled with fresh powder!
Whether you are an outdoors enthusiast, a connoisseur of arts and entertainment, a sports fanatic or an explorer; within minutes of our home, you could be enjoying your favorite activity.
Kamloops is known internationally as the Tournament Capital of Canada hosting over 100 tournaments each year at their world-class sports facilities. We are also home to the Kamloops Blazers Junior Hockey Team. If attending a tournament or watching a game is your favorite pastime, check it out.
To your ‘must see’ list add a visit to the Kamloops Museum. It is one of the oldest museums in the province. Another ‘must see’ is the Kamloops Art Gallery, the largest art gallery in the interior of BC and home to 12 exhibitions every year. While you are out and about downtown Kamloops check out the Kamloops Farmer’s Market which hosts over 100 local vendors with everything from produce and artisan goods to handcrafted items. It’s a great place to support locals and discover unique souvenirs and gifts.
If you are into touring, there are five micro-breweries in town, a couple of cideries, a few distilleries and four wineries. Why not take a Wine & Brew Tour? And there is nothing better than stopping for a bite to eat at one of Kamloops’ many unique eateries, brew houses and restaurants.
We have parks – lots of parks! One of our favorites is Riverside Park where you can stroll along the beaches of the Thompson River or take a walk in the rose garden, go for a swim, enjoy a picnic, lawn bowling or stay for ‘Music in the Park’ every night throughout the summer. Also worth a visit is our Wildlife Park and Kenna Cartwright Park with its scenic trails for hiking, cycling and snowshoeing.
If biking is your love, numerous cross country and mountain biking trail networks surround our lovely city, many within minutes of our home such as the Pine Valley trail network, Kenna Cartwright and the Bike Ranch, Canada's largest municipal bike park. If you want to take it to the next level, Sun Peaks Bike Park is a short 45 minute drive from our home and offers lift access to 2,000 vertical feet with forty bike trails. Sun Peaks Resort is open in the summer from June to September and also offers alpine hiking via lift access and BC’S highest elevation golf course. And if winter sports are your passion whether it be snowshoeing, snowboarding, cross country or downhill skiing, Canada’s second largest destination resort, Sun Peaks, has it all! Oh, and while you are there take a stroll through the exquisite Sun Peaks Village with its quaint shops, cafes, and restaurants - perfect for après ski or après bike!
We also have Harper Mountain which is only 25 minutes from our house. In addition to skiing and snowboarding, Harper also has snowshoeing, the Snow Town Tube Park and night skiing. If you look to the east from our living room in the evening on a weekend you will see the lights of Harper Mountain.
And for the cross-country ski enthusiast, Stake Lake Trails is a mere 20 minutes south of us. They have over 60km of groomed ski trails, night skiing and snowshoeing.
If golf is your passion, Kamloops is the place to be. Kamloops has a golf course for every skill level and every budget, many within the city limits. You can golf on the shores of the South Thompson River at Rivershore, or on the shores of the North Thompson River at The Dunes, overlooking Kamloops Lake at Tobiano, on the bluffs of Pineridge or at the Kamloops Golf and Country Club, Kamloops’ oldest golf club.
Let us not forget that Kamloops is home to some of the BC Interior’s best fishing and is world famous for its fly fishing. Kamloops has 100+ lakes to explore whether it be fishing, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding or canoeing. The top five lakes to fish in the area are within 50km of our house!

Our backyard is weird and awesome. Kamloops’ rugged, desert-like valley is home to deep gorges, sandstone canyons, fragrant sagebrush and ponderosa pines, and chiseled hoodoos that frame every photo. So, grab your shoes, bike, paddleboard, or kayak, and explore 100+ lakes, 82 parks, and hundreds of trails, all within a 45-minute drive of downtown.’
