Nestled in the heart of the vibrant Springfield historic district, our meticulously restored home offers guests a unique blend of traditional architecture and modern comforts.
The Guesthouse is a haven of comfort and privacy. It includes a fully furnished kitchen, a cozy living area, a comfortable bedroom, and a full bathroom, making it perfect for additional guests seeking a bit more seclusion.
This is a very exciting time to be in Springfield! We have several restaurants and breweries opening along Main Street and downtown (a great pizza and wing place as well as a "nano brewery" just two blocks away). Springfield was called "the south's best come back neighborhood" by Southern Living a few years ago! One of our newest events is called Second Sundays in Klutho Park (just a few blocks away). The second Sunday of every month (April through October, 4pm-7pm) there is live music, food trucks and craft brews, produce market, local vendors, and fun & games for the whole family. It's free to the public. We also have PorchFest in November which brings 30+ bands to perform on porches. It's one of our favorite days of the whole year.
It is a very social neighborhood and you'd be hard pressed to go for a walk without having someone greet you from their porch. As with all urban neighborhoods, there is a fair amount of foot traffic so we encourage our guests to keep their valuables out of their vehicles. We are very passionate about this neighborhood, the growth, and the people who are working hard to preserve the history here. This is not a perfectly manicured subdivision. We hope that the guests we have in our guesthouse will appreciate the character and diversity of Springfield as much as we do.
Springfield is a neighborhood in transition. While 90% of the homes are restored, there are a few in poor condition. As with any area close to a major downtown, there is a wide variety of people.
We live in the main house and are available if you have questions about the area.

Just a short walk from your doorstep, you'll find bustling cafés, gourmet restaurants, and eclectic boutiques. Immerse yourself in the local culture at the nearby art galleries, or take a leisurely bike ride through the picturesque streets lined with majestic oaks.

We have 2 Siberian Huskies: Dua and Lipa. We would love to exchange with other dog lovers. We don't smoke and we would prefer to exchange our home with other non-smokers. We charge a cleaning fee of $50 (paid upon arrival).
Please acknowledge the following House Rules before booking our place:
(1) make sure to add all guests into the reservations, including name and email - we don’t take booking being made on behalf of others; please let us know if you are local to Jacksonville and the reason for your stay with us
(2) the Springfield neighborhood can be noise, especially during weekend nights; and the neighbourhood is close to Jacksonville’s downtown which is known to have several people experiencing homelessness
(3) we do not provide a washer & dryer to our guests - there is a laundromat 2 min walk from the house, but we may allow you to use our washer & dryer if you’re booking a 30-days stay or longer
(4) smoking is strictly forbidden anywhere on the property, inside and out (including porch or front or back yard - there will be a $500 fine/cleaning fee
(5) there is off-street parking in front of the main house only - it is not allowed to park in the backyard or in the driveway in the back street
(6) trash needs to be taken outside to the trash bin every Wednesday. There’s is only once-a-week trash collection on Thursdays very early morning. If you’re staying more than 7 nights, we ask you to wait until Wednesday evenings to take your trash out
(7) we are pet friendly hosts and we prefer a maximum of 1 pet (we have a husky female 1 year puppy). Please note that our fences in the backyard are not so secure especially for small pets to be roaming around not on-leash. Any stain or mess done by the pet, we will charge an additional $100 cleaning fee
(8) gatherings/parties of any kind are strictly forbidden at this property. If you host a gathering/party/event at this property we will levy a $1,000 fine/fee
(9) we can consider early check-in or late-check-out at $25 per hour (please inquiry if you need before hand). We will do not offer last minute bookings, but we may consider and make a exception.
(10) AC and heater are shared between the guesthouse and bottom floor of the main house. We may adjust the temperature but we always give you preference for your chosen temperature.
