Time Well Wasted is a rural cabin get-away with all the modern conveniences. Situated on a spacious 3.7 acre lot, TWW is at the end of a private road (cul-de-sac). People say it feels remote, yet not isolated. Frequently various wildlife can be sighted, including occasionally black bears! Sitting on the rear deck and grilling dinner is the ideal way to spend a relaxed evening, with no other people or buildings in sight - just nature. The living room has a wood burning fireplace, usable in the winter months, to curl up on the couch and watch a movie, or gaze out into the woods through the large sliding door window. Guests often remark that both king sized beds are very comfortable. Primary bedroom contains a jet tub; the other bedroom is very bright with windows on all four sides. The modern kitchen is well stocked.

Time Well Wasted lies within the gated mountain community of Laurel Valley. Most significantly, the cabin is located only seven miles from the Townsend entrance to Great Smoky Mountain National Park, the most visited national park in the USA. The most popular site nearby in the national park is Cades Cove (about half an hour away). Townsend is often called the "peaceful side of the Smokies" which means that it is quaint and quiet in contrast to the more popular tourist locations such as Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Townsend has several restaurants and other services (gas stations, grocery store, antique shops, ice cream, microbreweries), about five miles from the cabin. Wild Laurel public golf course is less than a mile away. The Smokies are enjoyable during all four seasons; spring (wildflowers) and autumn (fall colors) are the most popular times to visit.
