Our home has stunning views from every window. It’s a comfortable family home with a steep garden leading down to the Helford River which is tidal. Kayaks, SUP or dinghy can be made available for your use if you are interested.
Description:
Our house is on three levels (built into the hillside) and from the driveway and parking you walk down a set of steps to the front door. On this level, there is the entrance hall, the open kitchen/dining room and a separate utility room (with washing machine and dryer). Also the first bedroom with a divan double bed with a very comfortable medical grade foam mattress and a home office desk with high speed fibre broadband. A bathroom with toilet, sink and walk-in shower is also on the same level. The kitchen has a combined fridge/freezer, dishwasher and a Smeg gas dual fuel range cooker with electric oven. Toaster, kettle, coffee/smoothie/toastie maker etc. all available.
From the kitchen/diner there is a bifold door opening up to a patio (beautiful view to the creek and sheltered in an easterly wind). Patio with chairs and open fire bowl. From the dining room there are steps up to the very light lounge with big glass sliding doors out to the balcony with fantastic views all around. You feel like you are sitting within the trees! The lounge has a log burning stove in one corner for those chillier nights and a TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. An east and south facing balcony with stunning views onto the garden and river surround the lounge. Another bedroom/home office connects to the lounge with a single sofa bed (if needed).
On the lower ground floor there are two bedrooms and two bathrooms for your use. One bedroom with a king sized bed and an on suite shower/bath. One bedroom with a double bed and a separate bathroom. There is one additional bedroom downstairs which we intend to close up so it can be used for storage of items you will not need (as we have no garage or cellar). Although the house has room for 7 people, it is ideal for 4-5 people to stay.
The garden is very typical Cornish, leading steep down to the water, we have several old oak trees, camellias, rhododendron and a beautiful large magnolia tree which is in full flower around March/April time. We have a small pond and lots of steep steps and walkways in the garden with direct access to our quayside. Due to having many steps and some steeper drops and the water so close our home may not be so suitable for younger children. We have a BBQ and several seating areas within the garden.
We have two chickens which have an enclosure within a small part of the garden. They provide you with a couple of fresh eggs on most days. They are very easy maintenance but can be looked after by one of our friends while we are away. Our very friendly labrador can stay here with you (if you like) or go to kennels while you are staying here.

We live directly by the Helford River with water and boat access. Our home is located in a friendly small picturesque Cornish village, which is part of the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (now National Landscapes). The village has a village hall with exhibitions, talks and events throughout the year, a seasonal yacht club with bar and restaurant and a small book exchange. The coastal footpath and gardens (Trebah and Glendurgan gardens, National Trust) are all in close surroundings. It is a 5 minute drive to Constantine (small food shop and a great cake stall) and a 15 minute drive into Falmouth (popular harbour town with all necessary shops, amenities, lots of cafes and restaurants and some beautiful beaches). Several pubs can be reached by foot or kayak (at high tide).
The closest surfing beach is Poldhu Cove, a 25 minute drive, the North coast beaches are about 40 minutes away by car.
