Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement
Welcome to our unique family home in sub-tropical Brisbane, third largest city in Australia, and host-city for the 2032 Olympic Games. Our spacious 4 bedroom home has been dramatically renovated in-line with our architect’s vision to capitalise on a prime block of land, and to capture the best that Brisbane’s sunny climate has to offer. This is our forever home, so we’ve gone to great lengths to include many creature comforts including multiple living spaces inside and outside, hot-tub (jacuzzi), cinema room, home gym, huge trampoline and a big, flat back yard that keeps a family of soccer players shouting ‘Goaaaaal!’ all year round.
Our home is surrounded by mature, tropical gardens with a resort vibe that will have you wondering how you’re on the fringe of the city heart. Downstairs you’ll find an enormous undercover area we affectionately refer to as ‘The Grotto’. This expansive 160m2 covered space is decorated with 2500 fairy lights and hanging gardens that spill into our backyard. It’s the perfect all-weather space for entertaining, dining, soaking in the hot/cold jacuzzi (fully fenced), doing arts & crafts, riding bikes and scooters, working-out in the gym, playing with the kid’s bush kitchen, sandpit digging, relaxing and general socialising. We love this space, and we think any guests who stay here will quickly see why.
Upstairs boasts an expansive, open plan living room with blackbutt timber floors and high ceilings that let natural light flood-in. A deluxe King Furniture lounge suite is the perfect place to relax, watch the 75inch TV equipped with Apple TV, or listen to a record as you look out the window to a serene green treescape.
The adjacent dining space features a massive, custom-built timber table that comfortably seats twelve. This is where our extended family gathers to celebrate milestones and feast on food!
Nearby is our designer kitchen with a soaring 5 metre high ceiling, crisp white stone benches and high stool seating. The kitchen is equipped with top quality appliances including a Falcon twin-oven with gas cooktop, Bosch dishwasher and an In-sink-erator. The partnering butler’s kitchen has a large walk-in pantry and an extra sink. We are prolific cooks and the space has been designed to entertain with ease and comfort.
Large, stacking glass doors and flyscreens retract in two directions to flow seamlessly onto a generous tiled deck area, equipped with an outdoor dining suite, large comfy lounge and gas barbecue. The outlook is extremely private and green, and the perfect spot to capture an afternoon breeze. The outer edge of the deck is surrounded by motorised, remote-controlled insect/sun screens that offer complete protection from flies and mosquitos that can definitely ruin the fun in a Brisbane summer. Please take note of this point – many modern renovations in our region take a ‘no screens’ approach. It’s a regrettable move!
Also upstairs is the main bedroom with a comfy Queen bed, adjoining walk-in-wardrobe and hotel-style ensuite bathroom featuring a stone bench, twin basins and twin-shower. Outside the main bedroom is a separate study area with a beautifully curated book collection. It’s cookbook heavy, so any budding-chefs will be in heaven.
There are 3 additional children’s bedrooms, each with built-in sliding robes, serviced by a separate bathroom that includes a shower and large bathtub. Two bedrooms each have a king single bed and the third has a single bed with a roll-out trundle bed underneath. All 4 bedrooms feature full blockout blinds and screened windows.
There’s also a third guest toilet upstairs, and a convenient laundry with fully-featured washer and dryer.
Still upstairs, we have a ‘mixed-use’ room at the front of the home that works as a separate living space or home office with several professional desks, including one sit-stand motorised unit.
Downstairs adjoining The Grotto is a separate, internal ‘Granny-flat’ that offers additional spaces, including;
A compact home cinema room equipped with a Viewsonic projector, 110-inch screen, Polk Dolby cinema sound bar, Apple TV and comfy couch. Blockout curtains and blinds make it a prized destination to escape to with a glass of wine and a bowl of chips on a Saturday night! The kids also love it for gaming.
A large mixed-use room that currently acts as a play-space for our 5 year old who has somehow amassed more toys than seems reasonable.
A brand new bathroom with shower, toilet and basin.
A completely separate bedroom with a Queen size bed, however, PLEASE NOTE that this room is where we usually lock up our private/personal items during a home-share situation. This would require further discussion.
There’s also a private, double garage at the front of our house, as well as a side-entry gate that allows a third car to park off-street near the enormous 14ft Vuly trampoline. (BTW the trampoline has a full shade cover for peak summer heat and a basketball hoop.)
Our home is equipped with Daikin reverse-cycle air-conditioning & heating throughout, making it comfortable all year-round. There are also ceiling fans in most rooms. Brisbane summers can get hot.
Speaking of which, our hot water system is the ‘endless’ variety, so no cold showers, ever.
We take home security seriously (partly because we love to travel.) So as well as having a full security and alarm system installed, we have many EUFY cameras for external monitoring, security screens on all louvred windows, and a front-gate intercom system that lets you see who’s ringing the bell then open it remotely. Our home is VERY private from the street and we like it that way.

Ce que vous allez adorer dans le quartier
Paddington is one of Brisbane’s oldest suburbs, famous for its charming character homes, rolling hills, bustling high street and central city location. Despite being one of few suburbs that can claim to have a true ‘Village feel’, you can drive to the dead-centre of Brisbane City from our front door in just 7mins, ride a bike in 15 mins, or walk in 45mins.
Paddington (affectionately known by locals as Paddo), is also one of Brisbane’s most affluent suburbs. There isn’t a ‘good bit’ and a ‘dodgy bit’. It’s all lovely! Tree-lined streets. Friendly locals. A mixture of old money and cool, young couples attracted to the eclectic culture and cafe society.
Paddington is also one of the best-connected suburbs in Brisbane, boasting handy public transport links to just about anywhere you’d want to go by bus, train, Uber or scooter. We really are in the heart of the action here. No need for a car (believe me, this is rare for Brisbane as it’s an extremely spread-out city.)
Our home is a mere 150m metre walk from Given Tce - the long and charismatic high-street lined with shops, boutiques, restaurants, pubs, café’s, gyms, cinemas, bars, music hall, hotel, beauty services, galleries and arguably the best historical pub in all of Brisbane – the Hope & Anchor. People travel from all over town to spend a day wandering along Given Tce, which extends to Caxton Street to the East and Latrobe Tce to the West.
Other amenities within walking distance include;
- Two major supermarkets (Coles and Woolworths) within a 12-15 min walk, or a few minutes drive. (There’s also a smaller organic food and grocery store just a 2min walk away.)
- Walk 10 mins to 57,000 seat Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane’s historic home of sport, concerts and major events. (Adjoining is the well-connected Milton train station.)
- Walk 20 mins to even more restaurants, cafes and cinemas at nearby hubs - Rosalie Village, The Barracks and Park Road. You’ll be spoiled for choice for eateries and nice spots for a cold drink.
- Walk 10 mins to historic Ithaca Public Pool and the popular adjoining Paddington Skate Park.
- Many playgrounds (see Frew Park), tennis courts and nature walking/bike tracks are also easily within reach.
- Walk 20 mins to the Milton Farmer’s Market on weekends.
- Walk 30 mins to the beautiful Roma Street Parklands - Brisbane’s most manicured public gardens with regular festivals and drawcard events.
