We’re semi-retired professionals who love to travel and are open to simultaneous exchanges, especially to Halls Head/Mandurah Perth, Western Australia where we have family.
Our contemporary architect-designed home is set in peaceful sub-tropical gardens. There are 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, with a central open-plan kitchen/dining/living, plus a second living area. With floor to ceiling windows/doors throughout there’s great connectivity to the outdoors and views. Living areas and bedrooms open to a large sheltered courtyard with swimming pool and outdoor fireplace. There are 2 bedroom wings, one with master bedroom, study and ensuite, and the other with 2 large double rooms, a 4-bed bunk room, living room and bathroom. The peaceful 4-hectare property has beautiful views over river valleys and treetops, and to horses grazing in the paddocks. Enjoy resort style living with park-like gardens, swimming pool, mature trees and birdsong just a 7 minute drive to Kerikeri town centre and 15 minutes to Bay of Islands airport (serviced by 2 or 3 daily flights to/from Auckland).
Car can be included if a car exchange is available.

Kerikeri is the largest town in the Far North and the main commercial hub for Bay of Islands locals. There’s a great selection of specialty shops, two major supermarkets, smaller food stores located in both Kerikeri and nearby Waipapa, and The Old Packhouse Market and Kerikeri Farmers’ Market every weekend. There are many restaurants, cafés, pubs, wineries and take-out food and beverage options — many less than 10 minutes by car from our property.
The Bay of Islands has a sub-tropical climate and cosmopolitan yet authentic small scale towns. There are numerous sheltered bays and harbours with white sand beaches, abundant seafood and locally grown produce, some of our country’s most diverse ancient rainforests and superb recreational options. Enjoy nearby secluded and pristine beaches, boating, fishing, walking and cycling trails, golf, horse-riding, historic places and Puketi Forest, noted as one of the most diverse rainforests in New Zealand. The coast-to-coast ‘Pou Herenga Tai’ Cycle Trail is about 40 minutes drive from our property.
With 144 beautiful islands, clear blue water, sandy beaches and abundant bird and sea life, the Bay of Islands is a great place for water-based activities. There are wildlife and scenic cruises and opportunities for kayaking, sailing, fishing, parasailing and diving.
Northland also has other great places to explore as day-trips from our property. For example; Cape Reinga, where the Tasman meets the Pacific at the most northern tip of NZ, charming coastal towns such as Mangonui (with famous fish & chips at the wharf), historic Russell and Rawene. Explore the contrasting East and West coasts of Northland and discover natural beauty, culture and history.
